Stay up for an hour of that movie. So many zingers. It keeps me awake. Doze off for a little bit. Up again at 4:20. Turn on KUOW to listen to BBC News. Business Daily is a bummer. "Is it alright to Spend, Spend, Spend to save the world?" Mac & cheese and chili for breakfast. Bath. Walk up to Kaladi. Jeremiah and Lucas are on duty. I hear Heaven Let Your Light Shine Down by Collective Soul.
One of my favorites. That song is 15-years-old. Man! I'm old. Drop by my place for a minute. Walk down Pike. Bump into Katie again. She wishes me the best for us at Hutch Kids. Up Westlake to work. 9 to 11:30 - planning time for Elaine. Anne sets up an interesting art project for the Sea Otters.



We head over to the Bike Room. 11:30 - Elaine's lunch break. 7 Sea Otters go back for lunch. Lots of yogurt and noodle mess. 12:30 - Margot's lunch. The Sea Otters go to sleep fairly easily... except for David. Margot helps Catherine to nap. Thank you. I cover for Kenn's lunch. The Dolphins are wacky at nap time, but they fall asleep... all of them. Walk up to M Street Grocery to get some tomato juice... (for Blood Mary). Home. Listen to The World. Burrito for dinner. Play movie - Ironman.

(Girlfriend ?) Back to my place to drop off my bear mug. ATM cash. Walk up 6th over to 8th. Admire the new West 8th building. Free space 9 to 10. Help with laundry and dishes. I'm done with dishes at 10:15. That's fast. Hang out with the Sea Otters. Help with nap mats for all the tods. 12 - Margot's lunch. Sara loves her chili. .. a girl after my own heart. Sara gets silly at nap time. David is totally high-maintenance for nap. Geez. I give up. Streetcar to Whole Foods. Get some Mac & Cheese, salad bar, and wine. Walk home. There's Dwit. He asks about Save Hutch Kids. Walk up 8th to Trinity Episcopal. Over to 7th and through Freeway Park to my place. Play Smallville - Run and Spell. Play movie - Bender's Big Score.

Get a ham and cheese croissant at the Daily Grind. 9 to 11 - Planning time for Gloria. 8 high-energy Seahorses. Whew! We don't go outside until 10:00. They need fresh air. 11 - lunch prep for Seahorses and Starfish. 12 - Margot's lunch. (She takes Elaine's hours.) 1 - Anne's lunch. Margot gets Mimi to sleep fast. Thank goodness. Mimi has been tough at nap time. I rock and sing David to sleep. Finally... quiet at 1:40. Streetcar to d'town. Write a letter for Nana. Up to Capitol Hill post office to mail it. Rice and Xo-Jan chicken for dinner. Watch music videos.

Quiet shop. Back to my place to drop off my Samsung. I'm hungry again. Go up to Kaladi to get a raspberry croissant. Very yummy. Munch on it on my way to work. Planning time for Charmaine - 9 to 11. Snack is saltines and pineapple juice. Julian gets upset when we cut him off after the 2nd cup. We do some puzzles and some drawing. Out to the playground at 11:00. It's not as chilly today. Margot does the lunch set-up. Thank you, Margot. 12 - We head inside... but I need to dash over to the Seahorses to cover Olivia's lunch. Their lunches look so good. P & J sandwiches and chicken fried rice. Vivek has a corn dog. Up to Rainforest kids to do Shawna's lunch. Nap time for those guys. Aki wants me to sit with him. They play David Gray for nap music. I love it.

Walk up to Kaladi for some coffee. Lucas and Jeremiah are on duty. No wonder they get rave reviews on Yelp. Love you guys! Down Pike, over to 8th and up Westlake to work. Cover for Elaine's Toddler Team meeting. Anne and I hang out. I set up an animal table - sea creatures, tigers, elephants, horses and cows.

Over to Starfish. Gwen and Cyrus love books. They pick out Good Boy, Fergus to read to them.

Up to Wildflowers just to set up lunches and mats. Sharyn helps me. 12 - Elaine's lunch. Sara loves her fish, but she has fish-breath. 1 - Margot's lunch. Mimi refuses to nap. Oh my goodness! I forget my umbrella when I leave. #70 up to Marion. Walk down to Mae Phim to get a #9 - Tom Kah Kai. Walk up to my place. Turn on The World. They talk about the air pollution in Guangzhou. They have some serious shopping, too.

Bath. Walk up to Victrola for some of their Sumatra Lake Towar coffee. I get the chance to thank the roaster and the barista for the good coffee. Drop off my laptop. Streetcar to work. Meet with Celeste for my evaluation. She seems interested in the book I'm reading The Tao Of Teaching. Fold laundry with Kim. So many washcloths. Shaving cream in the Sea Otter room. How fun! Kaleb is covered in it. There's more on him than on the table. Breaks for Elaine and Margot. Kenn is subbing for Andy while he takes a personal leave of absence... until April 20th. I give him a break. Over to the Bike Room to hang out with the Starfish and Seahorses and break their teachers. 11:30 - Elaine's lunch. I get a little fresh air - chilly fresh air - with my Sea Otter friends. Inside for lunch time. They eat their yogurt first, of course. Their naps are easy. Dolphins need help (again). Kenn gives Catherine a full-body-massage, and she dozes off. Over to the computer room. I become of member of NAEYC Torch. Walk up to Whole Foods to get some wine and cheese. Back to my place. Turn on The World. Access my favorite music videos. I need Groove Is In The Heart! Beef and spicy bean soup for dinner. Watch President Obama's press conference.

Switch to KING 98.1 Toast with hummus and h-b egg for breakfast. Bath. Walk up to Kaladi. Connect with 102.1 KDFC classical in S. F. on my Samsung. It's a classical morning, I guess. Bye, Lucas. Drop off stuff at home. Pick up an orange. Trot up Westlake to work. Planning time to Margot - 9 to 12. I give the Sea Otters lots of free play. Every once in a while, I do songs for a spontaneously-grown group. 10:45 - Bike Room. Sharyn sets up our lunches. 12 - Charmaine's lunch. She spends 5 minutes putting Catherine's shoe on. 7 Dolphins eat lunch. They were hungry. I get to diapers at 12:40. Charmaine hosts a BIG observation meeting. The extra teachers actually help me get the kids to nap. Today - Anneliese is my hold-out... 1:50. Streetcar to d'town. Walk up Pike to Capitol Hill. Over to Madison and down to First Hill. Stop by M Street Grocery to pick up a couple things. Turn on The Ron Reagan Show. He answers interesting questions about life at The White House. Also - College graduates came by for Job Fair For An Adult Club - The Foxy Lady - in Rhode Island. 300 people show up for the fair. There's an overwhelming response. The club owner said that it was a heart-wrenching experience.Rice noodles and stew beef for dinner. Star Trek mini-marathon - The Menagerie Part. 1

I love watching the orchestrated water spurts, falls, splashes... Every time is a pleasure, an appreciation of something much larger than self. It's art.
I would love to see it in the summertime.


Over to Queen Anne Ave. Catch a #18 bus back to d'town. Buy a Lotto at Market Groceries. Catch a #2 up to 8th and Madison. Jaunt over to M Street Grocery to get some stuff. Back to my place. Read Huffington Post. Listen to Rick Steves program. He interviews a family who World Schools... author of A Brilliant Teacher. Indeed, The World Is A Brilliant Teacher. Over to Moons & Stars. They're studying what plants do. Over to Rainforest Kids - free play. Trailblazers & Explorers are involved - listening to a dad's show about airplanes. He shows it on a little black Samsung. Cool! 11 - Set up lunches for Dolphins and Sea Otters. 12 - Elaines' lunch. Rowan conks out before lunch. The 4 others are done in 10 minutes. I take 3 down to the Bike Room. Marina is revved up. We hang out with Earnestine's and Yachea's group. Those little babies seem to be ok with toddlers who are twice as big... and twice as fast. They go to sleep soon after coming back to the classroom. I cover for Kenn's lunch. The Dolphins resist naps again. It's not as bad as yesterday, but still... Manav tests me a lot. He doesn't fall asleep until 2:00. Take streetcar up to Whole Foods to get some Murcott oranges, Rice Dream and Kakheti white wine from the Democratic Republic of Georgia. Walk down 8th to my place. I make it home just before an intense band of rain passes over.

Drop off my Samsung at my place. It's drizzly. Walk up Westlake to work. Listen Stephanie Miller's friend - John Fugelsang - and his take on the AIG thing. 9 to 11 - Planning time for Elaine. Margot is out sick, so Anne subs for her. Lots of free play for 8 Sea Otters. I'm feeling low-energy. Sneezing a lot. Very runny nose. Same for most of the group. The Trailblazers visit the Sea Otters. They ask for some paintings for their art walk. They ask us questions for their survey. Cute. 10:45 - Bike Room. Walk up to the Yale Bldg. to find the Seahorses since it's Gloria's lunch. Olivia does circle time. Wow! They're engaged with it for almost a whole hour. Purplicious is a favorite.

Over to Sea Otters again to do Elaine's lunch. It's a busy hour. I try to get some kids asleep before I clean up the lunch mess. At least, the Sea Otters are more co-operative about nap time than the Dolphins. Yikes! 1:45 - Finally, everyone is asleep. Walk up Capitol Hill to B'way. Wow! They're knocking down the buildings to make way for the Link Light Rail Capitol Hill Station. Progress! Down Pike to my place. 3:21 - Start 2 loads of laundry. I'm head is even more flu-ish. Aaaa-Aaaa-Aaaa-Chooooo!

Clean up apartment for exterminator. Rice and garlic pork for breakfast. Bath. Bump into the new guy - Darren - from Apt. 810. He seems like a nice guy. Up to Victrola for coffee. It got busy after I got my coffee. I lucked out. There's cute Mark, too. Drop off my Samsung. Walk through Cascade to work. Planning time for Charmaine. Anne covers for Andy. It's hard to organize the Dolphins with parents dropping off their kids at any time. I put some blue masking on the floor for a road to drive their matchbox cars. The Manav/Julian dynamic makes me nervous, so we head out early to the playground. Andy helps me. Thanks for your flexibility, Andy. Set out some of the Starfish and Seahorse lunches. Then I get pulled. Margot doesn't feel well, so she goes home, and I cover for her. With only 5 Dolphins, I help the Dolphins with nap time. It's quite a struggle. Julian is the last hold-out. Walk up Westlake to my place. I don't believe that the exterminators came. Finish off my rice and garlic pork for lunch. Visit Benson's to get a Lotto. Up to QFC to get some Squirt, tomato juice and spaghetti. Interesting thing on today's The World - The Greatest Motivational Post Ever?

Over to B'way an down Belmont to work. A parent is in the lobby selling Save Hutch Kids buttons - $1.25.

Hutch Kids still needs to be saved. I almost forgot. I put my button on my Trader Joe's tote bag. 11 people are out today. Yikes. I do breaks starting with Gloria. Only 30 minutes to set up lunches. 45-minute lunch breaks for Elaine, Margot and Jessica (who is subbing for Leisha). Poor Andy - He has to cover for his own lunch and his group is not cooperating in this situation. Kyle has a meltdown when Jessica goes on her break. "I WANT MY MOMMY!" I rocked him in the rocking chair. Harlen and Gwen conk out at 1:55... just in time for me to leave. Streetcar to d'town. #194 bus tunnel to Uwajimaya. Get the daily special - garlic pork. #71 bus tunnel back to my place. Turn on The World. I don't really listen - except for Sci-Fi At The U.N. Listen to NPR News. Sad news in Seattle - The Last Day For The P-I In Print. Jobless Rate Jumps To 8.4 Percent. More that 28,000 payroll jobs evaporated from the Washington economy last month, helping to send the state's unemployment rate to its highest level since June 1985. I think that my eyes are going to pop out of my head. Turn on Ron Reagan. He talks about the closing of the P-I.

Oh! There's Lahore's train station. Left-over spaghetti and h-b egg for breakfast. Bath. A light rain is falling as I walk up to Victrola. There's cute Mark. He charges me only $1 for my coffee. Thanks Mark! I tip him a buck. Plug into their wi-fi to post my blog. Drop off my Samsung. Turn on Wait, Wait! Nice wet walk up to Cal Anderson Park. There's a baseball game. Back down Pike to my place. Stay inside to warm up and watch movie - Barbarella. What a movie!

The meeting with Dildano catches my eye. And Barbarella destroys the Excessive Machine. Yet, I can't stay inside. Wander up to Whole Foods for chips and dip... because I am planning to have a Lost In Space marathon.

One of my favorite episodes - A Change Of Space.

Jonathan Harris, Billy Mumy and Mark Goddard are the only actors to appear in every episode of the series. Marta Kristen and Angela Cartwright appeared in 81 of the 83 episodes produced, missing only 1 episode.

Up Westlake to work. Pot luck upstairs. Yum! 9 to 12 - Planning time for Charmaine. Andy stays with me. Love Andy's energy. The Dolphins trickle in one-by-one. Nice weather. We want to use the playground. We luck out because the other groups want to walk to the parks. We have the Bike Room for ourselves. 12 - Elaine's lunch. 7 Sea Otters eat their lunches. They eat their yogurt, then lunch is done. Rowan likes his p-n-b sandwich. 1 - Anne's lunch. (Anne is subbing for Margot.) Mimi fights her nap again, but I rest with her near her mat. David is easy. I just rock him. He's out like a light. Streetcar to d'town listening to a cute little story about COMFORT MOVIES on KUOW. The movie reviewer admits to Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure as her comfort movie. Get a Mega at Clay's Market. Listen to The World while shopping at QFC. Get QFC cold fried chicken, Calistoga, Stagg chili and eggs. Drop off stuff at my place. Turn on The Ron Reagan Show. Spaghetti and some QFC fried chicken for dinner. Watch Lexx - Lyekka Vs. Japan. Also watch movie - Paris, Je T'aime. "C'est très fort." Love how the French boy flirts with the American boy... who barely understands him. Son Of The Mimes is a cute story, too.

Finally, I fall back to sleep... until 7:00. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Toast and omelet for breakfast. Bath. Need fresh air. Walk up to Kaladi with my Samsung for some Chamomile tea. Stream the BBC News. Debate about the influence of guns in Germany. There's Jeremiah. Back to my place for a few minutes. Walk through Freeway Park. The sun is warming me up. Walk down to the Seneca Bldg. Not enough energy to walk back up. Take #150 bus tunnel back to my place. Turn on KUOW. Interesting interview LIVE with Tavis Smiley. He sounds very appreciative of Seattle. Listen to The World.
