donderdag 29 september 2016

donderdag 29 september 2016 Happy Birthday to Stephanie Miller! You just really blow my mind! You have been just so humorous during this heavy election period. Thanks for the fart jokes and flaven! And now... The lovely and talented Randy Rainbow! The pre-schoolers go to the library, so the toddlers have the playground for themselves. Nice! Lunches, diapers and naps. The kids sleep well. I hear about the train crash in Hoboken, NJ. on my lunch break. It's a day of ups and downs. One of the children bites another. The director is noticeably upset. She seems to hate the biter, but I know him better. I feel that administration thinks children are inherently evil. We all need fresh air. Again, we head outside to shout it out. Sam is cool and refers to Tears For Fears - Shout! I relax and re-view Matt & Blue - Walk On The Wild Side. Crow is cute, but his dads are cuter, you know. I love the Scotch tasting with Matt's grandma and Matt. Blue watched it. I shall watch The Martian.

woensdag 28 september 2016

woensdag 28 september 2016 Up with RT. Dutch led inquiry: plane downed by 9M38-series Buk missile. 'Nightmare movie in my head’: Relative of MH17 victims to RT ahead of Dutch report. RT Viral. Diving into American pop culture. Baby from Nirvana’s 'Nevermind' album recreates classic cover 25 years later.
The kids go to the library. It's nice to have the place to myself, but I need to set up a lot of cots and lunches. When they get back, things get hectic. It's a relief to go on my lunch break. I watch France 24. World leaders pay tribute to Shimon Peres. So many condolences. So many opinions about him! He was a complicated person. Peres was ‘a pathological charmer', says former advisor. Losing The Debate Badly... Of course Trump lost!

dinsdag 27 september 2016

dinsdag 27 september 2016 I was 3 AM in Paris when the debate started. Watch France 24. The whole world was watching. Donald? I say nothing. (Sniffle.) Thanks to Arthur Delaney - Senior Reporter, The Huffington Post - for this: Donald Trump Refuses To Apologize To Black Community For Birtherism: 'I Say Nothing'. Arthur on BP.
Needless to say, a lot a pundits are spinning the debate around and fact-checking. It's a busy day at work. Since we're having a meeting tonight, I am going to post early. But I heart a good joke... Hillary is clearly not to be trusted since she had the first lie in the debate last night. "Donald, it's good to be wi you."

maandag 26 september 2016

maandag 26 september 2016 THE BIG SHOWDOWN
Trump v Clinton: Debate lessons from Homer Simpson... and TV and film. In this Simpsons episode - Trash of the Titans - we see how populism overpowers realism.
A great MST3K movie to watch while I nurse this cold. The Hellcats. In the first segment, Joel and the Bots have bad colds. Joel uses Tom Servo's head to distribute vapor that "may cause flashbacks". Joel demonstrates his Sign-Language Translator.
Switch to KUOW. They advise: Don't watch the debates alone. Join us at Greenwood’s Naked City Brewery & Taphouse! Watch/commiserate/laugh/sob/gasp in delight or horror at The Presidential Debate Viewing Party.

In , Enterprise is stopped by Enterprise while trying to find a subspace corridor. It's game time!
Wow! Seattle Seahawks running back Christine Michael rushes for a 41-yard touchdown. Right off! TD. Again TD. Seahawks lead 21-3 with 7:53 left in the 2nd quarter. 49ers humiliated in 37-18 loss to Seahawks. It's over, Ferris. I love Star Wars' conspiracy theories. Who is balancing the Light with the Dark Sides? Who is really the chosen one? Is Snoke Really Mace Windu!

vrijdag 23 september 2016 Turn on Stephanie Miller. Thank God It's Friday! Live in studio - John Fugelsang.
He's in LA to host Comedy Nation at ACME with @frangeladuo & special guest Cristela Alonzo. I wish that I could be there. Think of the possibilities! THE COST OF RACISM: Why does America keep selling itself short? And ROLLING WITH THE PUNCHES: How to survive a 2 party system.
Thank you. Writer and director of The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron - Joss Whedon returns to Twitter to take on Donald Trump with a new super PAC. And this video. Take him, Joss! Watch The Slime People. Oops! It's a Trump Rally. Interesting.

donderdag 22 september 2016

donderdag 22 september 2016 Up with Bill Press. He tastes some Rock Creek White Whiskey from One Eight Distilling... a flavorful, Pennsylvania-style whiskey that bursts with bold, peppery notes. Bottled at 99 proof! What a pretty bottle.
Who doesn't love cocktails and dogs? One Eight Distilling is welcoming animal lovers to their casual cocktail party Whiskers and Whiskey. America, please do not elect the orange Skittle - Donald Trump. Trump Jr.'s Poisoned Skittles Tweet Goes Horrifically - And Hilariously - Awry. Ha! Ha! The apple doesn't fall from the idiot tree says Cenk Uygur. There you go! I remember Omran Daqneesh, a young boy wounded in Syria whose image was on the front page of newspapers around the world. Well, now... New York Boy Writes to Obama, Offers to House Refugee. The last political thing today... and it's Bellinghamish! Headbands 4 Hillary - The Good Time Girls present a fun and irreverent fundraiser for progressive Democrats in Washington and beyond. Party like it’s 1996-- this time with more rights! Everyone welcome.

woensdag 21 september 2016

woensdag 21 september 2016 I watched Bono on the news last night. Bono: Donald Trump Is Potentially The Worst Idea That Ever Happened In America. Turn on Stephanie Miller. She interviews Mike Papantonio about the crazy politics and his new book (fact or fiction?) Law And Disorder. Down to work. The kids go to the library for Book Time. I stay behind to set out cots and lunches. Whew! Things happen fast when they get back. Lunch, diapers and naps. On my break, I pass by another comic book store in Bellingham on Holly Street - The Comics Place... where you can ask for a lesbian - superhero comic. The last day of summer. Good bye, Summer. The shadows are long, and it's cools off fast. It gets, in fact, chilly on the playground. When I get home, I watch the news about The Protests In Charlotte, North Carolina. The situation looks tense.
I want to mellow. Let's watch Star Trek Continues - Embracing The Winds.

Tuesday, September 20, 2016

dinsdag 20 september 2016

dinsdag 20 september 2016 Midnight movie - MST3K: Rocketship X-M.
Congrats, planet Earth. We have entered A Post-Antibiotic Era. It's amazing that Mr. Potato Head is still popular with kids... Me, too! Creativity!
It IS a day of creativity with the pre-schoolers. They wake up from nap time to classical music. With markers, one of them draws something. "This is the sun," he exclaims. It looks like the infamous Black Hole Sun.
This is my creation. A photo before the kids defile it.
Home. Meal and the news. It's like the beginning of the end... Obama Gives His Final Speech Before U.N. General Assembly.

maandag 19 september 2016

maandag 19 september 2016 Midnight movie - MST3K: Robot Monster. Roy, Alice, The Professor and Johnny. Roy's shirt is torn up. He keeps wearing it... until the marriage.
Turn on Stephanie Miller. Moby - liberal hero & Steph's neighbor - joins the gang in the studio. It's a rainy day, but it lets up for my bike ride to work. Luck me! Mellow day. We listen to the story of Wynken, Blynken and Nod at circle time. I love the song version from The Doobie Brothers. Yay for the 80s! We stay inside all day because it rains on and off. I never feel a drop of rain during my lunch break or my commute home. More Lucky Me!

zondag 18 september 2016

zondag 18 september 2016 Ben Dery gives us the Seahawks Forecast.
Let's go to Mexico with Dylan Dauzat. Saucy little minx, ain't he? Continue with Season 3 of Penny Dreadful. Dr. Frankenstein teams up with Dr. Jekyll. Of course! Penny Dreadful: Shazad Latif on the relationship between Jekyll and Frankenstein. An estimated 91,000 in attendance for the Los Angeles Rams vs Seahawks. Rams get on the board first.
LA Rams stun Seattle Seahawks in home opener. I'm stunned, too.
Next time... We bring out The Monster From The Id!
15 Out-of-This-World Facts About ‘Forbidden Planet’

zaterdag 17 september 2016

zaterdag 17 september 2016 It's strange to watch a Vietnamese film with Polish subtitles. Co tu robisz? Wracaj do domu. (What do you do? Go back to the House.) Phim Đam Mỹ - Cha Và Con.
From the serious to the ridiculous... My next film - MST3K: The Crawling Hand. A teenager becomes possessed by a sentient, disembodied arm of an irradiated astronaut. I'm singing in the rain - I love days like this. Taking my radio, walking up the trail, listening and laughing to Wait, Wait! Don't Tell Me! It's a light, steady rain.
Chris Thile has a great voice. He starts a new era of A Prairie Home Companion. What a great choice! Chris plays Not My Job: Nickel Creek Frontman Chris Thile Gets Quizzed On Nickelback. Get some groceries at Trader Joe's and head back on foot to the apartment. Turn on the news. What? Sugar industry tried to hide bad effects. C'mon, kids! Let's jingle our worries away! At last, Age of Ultron. I'm a fan of Quick Silver. But why? Die? If only if he could have saved... Time in a bottle, he would have lived. Gracias niño.

vrijdag 16 september 2016

vrijdag 16 september 2016 Watch France 24. In business, they report Berlin's efforts to replace London as post-Brexit fintech capital. And Apple's iPhone 7 hits shelves in Asia. Dear startups, keep calm and move to Berlin.
Harvest full moon rises. 52.7 °F. What a beautiful sunrise!
LUNAR ECLIPSE – FULL MOON in Pisces September 16th 2016~ brings forth a surge of emotional energy. The watery depths of our unconscious bubble their way to the surface. At this apex of emotional uprising we must feel to heal and like true spiritual warriors brave our hearts through our wounds that are the doorway. I'm feeling... Seahawkish. It's Blue Friday. I'm wearing my Seahawks Pike Brewery Pride t-shirt.
Whoa! Cars line around Seattle store selling gas for 23 cents. The 23-cent gas sale was in honor of former Seahawk number 23, Marcus Trufant. Former? On April 23, 2014, Trufant signed a one-day contract so that he could retire as a Seattle Seahawk.

Thursday, September 15, 2016

donderdag 15 september 2016

woensdag 14 september 2016

woensdag 14 september 2016 Restless night. Let's relax and watch MST3K: The Crawling Eye. Up again with Bill Press. Who are the alt-right? He talks to Marin Cogan about her visit to a tiny conference room at the Willard Hotel in downtown Washington. The Alt-Right Gives a Press Conference.
2016 Is The Weirdest Election -- And This Frog Proves It! I miss Kurt Cobain. He died more than 20 years ago, but that fact hasn’t stopped conspiracy theorists from claiming the Nirvana singer is alive and well... and also Peruvian. When I watch this video, I shed a couple tears. Thank you, Ramiro Saavedra. Busy and fun day at work. I notice that the shadow of the Bellingham Crown Plaza is long and keeps us cool in the evening when the kids play outside. Nice bike ride home. Turn on CBSN- live. Besides the usual political news, I always see an ad for the 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe. Beautiful looking car... But I want to ride with Kit Harington.

Tuesday, September 13, 2016

dinsdag 13 september 2016

dinsdag 13 september 2016 This is weird. Radio announcer gives delightful play-by-play of Monday Night Football field runner. Is that the guy's phone number on his chest? LOVER!
Turn on Stephanie Miller. It's time to donate to Free Speech TV.
NASA has some nasty data - August Was The Hottest Month Ever Recorded. Again. We needed to cool our planet down... starting yesterday! We're doomed!
Weather tomorrow: Sunny forecast is intact through the week. This is not the real Pacific NW! Oy!

maandag 12 september 2016

maandag 12 september 2016 Happy Birthday to me! Let's watch a Vietnamese LGBT movie. Phim Đồng Tính - Rainbow Love Story. Interesting point of view.
The ride down to Seattle goes with a hitch. No stop-n-go traffic. First thing - visit Hutch Kids. Audrey escorts me around. Watch the kids play outside. Hi to Jessica in the staff lounge. Kenn gives me a big Happy Birthday hug. Over to the Seattle Boat Show. It's huge! What a beautiful day to be a yacht!
Rapid Ride "C" to downtown. Lunch at Mae Phim. Their Swimming Rama is the best! I go for a 4-star spicy-ness.
Up to Elliott Bay Books. I browse through the children's book, but nothing really catches my fancy. Cruise around Cal Anderson Park and down Broadway. Light rail down to University. I meet a cute French couple on the train. Let's visit Pike Place Market. Get a souvenir t-shirt at Pike Brewing Company. Hi there, Golden Age Collectibles.
Up to Market Park for the views. Beautiful!
I'm wearing myself out with all this walking. Relax at the Central SPL. My last hike... to the Int'l District to catch Bolt Bus.

Sunday, September 11, 2016

zondag 11 september 2016

zondag 11 september 2016 Midnight movie - Shrink. The trailer makes the movie seem light-hearted, but it gets serious. Espcially in the Intervention scene. Watch France 24. USA marks 15th anniversary of 9/11 attacks.
We cannot give in to those who would divide us. We cannot react in ways that erode the fabric of our society. In great anticipation of the Seahawks - Dolphins game... Seahawks players link arms during national anthem instead of kneeling. Hey, guys! Don't make me cry!
Catching up with Matt + Blue. Are they really moving to Colorado? Is that a Kenny Chesney song in the background? Who are going to cheer for? Denver Broncos? Nevermind. Let's hear Kenny Chesney - American Kids.

Saturday, September 10, 2016

zaterdag 10 september 2016

zaterdag 10 september 2016 I remember John Muir Elementary School. 3301 S Horton St, Seattle, WA. You're in the news! Making a difference! Teachers to Wear Black Lives Matter Shirts.
I enjoy this cool, end-of-summer day. Ride into town. First time to visit Kulshan Cycles. There are some cuties on staff... like Matt.
I like the store. Lots to explore. Back to my place. Let's watch another Reb Brown film - Yor, the Hunter from the Future.
Yor! No! It's pronounced Eye-Or. Reb Brown - buns of steel!

Friday, September 9, 2016

vrijdag 9 september 2016

vrijdag 9 september 2016 Restless night. Let's watch Star Trek - Where No Man Has Gone Before. Disaster at the edge of the galaxy! The Enterprise is severely damaged. Captain's Log, Stardate 1313.3 - Ship's condition: Heading back on impulse power only. Main engines-burned out. The ship's space-warp ability, gone. Earth bases which were only days away are now years in the distance.
Hang on to being human for one minute longer. Mitchell!
Next - MST3K: Space Mutiny... a delightfully horrible space opera with lasers, screaming, and a frightening lack of railings. The 80s! Starring Reb Brown.
It's a Blue Friday. I feel it in town and at work. But what's going to happen Sunday, September the 11th? A little anxiety mixes in with the excitement. Seahawks players may expand national anthem protest Sunday vs Dolphins. Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane sits as the national anthem plays in Oakland. (AP Photo/Tony Avelar)
Los Angeles. What's up? Those guys! Workers pose for picture atop Wilshire Grand Tower in DTLA... the tallest building west of the Mississippi River at 1,099 feet.
Another frightening lack of railings. Dinner and a movie - 2001.
