woensdag 30 november 2016

woensdag 30 november 2016 Midnight movie - Swiss Army Man.
Coughing through the night. Restless. Turn on Stephanie Miller. After a two-hour dinner with President-elect Donald Trump, Mitt Romney said he had “increasing hope” that Trump could lead America to a “better future.” They mock that soiree... and that photo. The Internet Can’t Get Enough Of That Awkward Trump-Romney Dinner Photo.
It's a Daniel Radcliffe day, I guess. Kill Your Darlings is next.

dinsdag 29 november 2016 Turn on Stephanie Miller . Oy! Georgia Representative Tom Price. Trumps Taps Obamacare Nemesis To Run Department Of Health And Human Services. And he might go after Medicare and Medicaid, too. Turn on HBO to watch Marathon: The Patriots Day. April 15, 2013. The Boston Marathon bombing killed 3 civilians and injured an estimated 264 others. Bus up to Cordata. Thai chicken soup for lunch. Visit Sweetbay for a little while. We watch Neil Gaiman's Likely Stories: Foreign Parts. Good luck, Simon, with your new life.
When I get home, I watch Jupiter Ascending right away. I love the crazy Balem character (Eddie Redmayne).

maandag 28 november 2016

maandag 28 november 2016 Start the 3rd season of The 100. Nice to see our protector Bellamy again.
For fun, let's watch some Power Rangers S.P.D. Everyone loves Bridge.
Turn on Stephanie Miller. She's wearing her Hillary 2016 shirt optimistic about the audit. How 'bout a Hillary 2017 shirt?
Sean Kaminsky cues up a new holiday jingle. It just warms my cockles.
I love it, RMM. (Scary Trumpmas to all, and to all a good fright.)

zondag 27 november 2016

zondag 27 november 2016 Die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika.
Let's watch the Nazis take over the U. S. in Enterprise: Storm Front. Up with CBS News. Cuban dictator Fidel Castro died Friday night at the age of 90, but the task of assessing his legacy has barely begun. How Fidel Castro stood up to the U.S., and won.
You know what? I love Lovely. And I love the vid put out about Josh and Tyler with that song. Let's watch JOSHLER (Tysh).
I bus over to Trader Joe's, but I walk the way home. 45 minutes of walking... with a little drizzle.
Seahawks lose 5-14 against Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I'm tired. To bed.

zaterdag 26 november 2016

zaterdag 26 november 2016 Oy vey... There's nothing like binge-watching a Netflix series until 2 AM. Lovesick is worth it!
Then... There's people gargling with fright. Let's watch MST3K: Future War. Mike and the bots take a crack at this slocky 1997 film in which a man formerly enslaved by aliens escapes to modern-day Los Angeles. I wonder who played Diablo in Suicide Squad. It's Jay Hernandez. Next... Absolutely Anything with Simon Pegg. At last, Thor: The Dark World. In ancient times, the gods of Asgard fought and won a war against an evil race known as the Dark Elves. The survivors were neutralized, and their ultimate weapon -- the Aether -- was buried in a secret location. Hundreds of years later, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) finds the Aether and becomes its host.

vrijdag 25 november 2016

vrijdag 25 november 2016 Who's qualified? Qualified at what? Explain, Crow! Let's watch MST3K: King Dinosaur. I get to relive those days of the DNC on Stephanie Miller. (Happier times.) Thanks to WCPT. Turn on France 24. I've heard this term before... The Pop Right... head-banger, Guns N' Roses conservative types. James McAuley is on the panel. He claims that Clinton's loss is part of a global trend: the fall of the center-left and the postwar consensus. Clinton’s loss is one more nail in the coffin of center-left politics in the West. Also, Democrats have a geography problem, given that Hillary Clinton now has a lead of around 2 million votes over Donald Trump. Rural America, even as it laments its economic weakness, retains vastly disproportionate electoral strength. The Electoral College magnifies the power of white voters.

donderdag 24 november 2016

donderdag 24 november 2016 Happy Thanksgiving! This makes my day! LeBron: The Musical. Let's watch Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. Yay! It's Santa!
Down to Sweetbay for Thanksgiving festivities. The table is beautiful set. Pete The Cat is fabulously set.
Suicide Squad is the after-dinner movie. The villains save the world. Ezra Miller is haunting me! He makes a cameo appearance as The Flash.

woensdag 23 november 2016

woensdag 23 november 2016 Up early to watch The Bill Press Show. Asawin Suebsaeng - social media editor at The Daily Beast - went to the Alt-Right conference in DC. Brave? Crazy? I would cringe if I heard a Hail, Trump! White Nationalists and Nazi-Saluting Tila Tequila Toast ‘Emperor Trump’ in Washington, DC. Join some friends from Sweetbay to get some entertainment. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them,’ A Blockbuster About Persecution, Is Extra Timely. Another movie with Ezra Miller in it... We Need To Talk About Kevin.

dinsdag 22 november 2016

dinsdag 22 november 2016 Yay for Josh and Tyler! Twenty One Pilots win the Favorite Duo or Group—Pop/Rock award at the AMA. Our special tonight is Devil Fish with Satanic string beans and deep Lucifered potatoes. The Devil Fish is on the roof!
What is the Devil Fish exactly? It's a secret military experiment! It is a genetic hybrid mutated from a common octopus and the prehistoric Dunkleosteus. Mike doesn't seem to enjoy the butt shots of Michael Sopkiw... Butt I do.
I'll never be convinced that everything is All Right Now. What? How? Never! Thank you, Bachman Turner Overdrive. Everything is Alt-Right now. Donald Trump Denies Responsibility For Energizing White Nationalists.

maandag 21 november 2016

maandag 21 november 2016 Midnight movie - MST3K: Village Of The Giants. The best part is the groovy dancing.
Mike and Nancy meet a giant, scary kitty.
Reviewing SNL. Pete Davidson seems a little bitter... Rightly so. Yes, Pete! Get it off your chest!
Pete Davidson Rips Trump, Kanye, and Staten Island (again), on SNL’s Weekend Update. Pete complains about Staten Island. It's this and that. But he sees the electoral map.
See that bid red open wound? That’s Staten Island, the herpes of boroughs. Turn on Stephanie Miller. She says, "We just signaled to the world that we elected #cheetolini." Steph and Monique Marvez discuss the Orange Apocalypse. "Orange is the new Dark." Let's just say that I had an energetic bike ride... and call it a night.

zondag 20 november 2016

zondag 20 november 2016 Vi er danskere! Watching The Last Kingdom. "We are Danes!" Born of Saxon nobility but raised a Dane, Uhtred grows up with a conflicted identity. A natural warrior, Uhtred is a leader of men, fearless, instinctive, and driven...
Next is Saturday Night Live... which is really Sunday Morning Unlive. Donald Trump Prepares Cold Open. Michael Che and Colin Jost kicked off “Weekend Update” with a pretty brutal critique of everything Donald Trump has done since his election victory.
Turn on A Prairie Home Companion. Elephants can be annoying. Thanksgiving - Food, Football and... Fermentation! Jimmy Graham is my hero! Perfection! Russell Wilson scrambles, then throws a pass to Jimmy Graham. He spins and runs to get the touchdown in the 2nd. The biggest plays from Seahawks-Eagles.
Finally... the last episode of The Last Kingdom. The fury of Uhtred unleashed.

zaterdag 19 november 2016

zaterdag 19 november 2016 Up with The Ranch. Nine episodes.
A good review here. The Ranch - Netflix’s new multicamera sitcom is engineered to compete with network TV. And it’s good. I manage to sleep a couple hours. Watch some KING 5 News. Philly is coming to Seattle. Paul Silvi gives us The Seahawks-Eagles preview. Let's watch Twenty One Pilots live in St. Petersburg October 2016. The sound quality is bad, and the fans sing off-key. Still, it's cool to watch Tyler and Josh in action.
Cruise around the Roosevelt and Sunnyland neighborhoods on my bike. Eventually, I get up to Alabama Hill. Hello, Bellingham!
It gets dark very early. It's 4:45 PM. Good ev'ning.

vrijdag 18 november 2016

vrijdag 18 november 2016 I'm enjoying the WTA System. Ride the #3 up to the Cordata Food Co-op for lunch. Get some yummy mushroom and barley soup. Hot and hearty! My clerk - Samuel - is a funny cute guy... with his Washington Nationals cap. Back into town on the #232. Walk down Railroad to Rumors. Tonight's DJ - Graymatter. I should check it out.
Back up Woburn to Barkley Regal Cinemas to watch Arrival. It's a story of 'first contact' with two cephalopod-like aliens, which they call 'Heptapods' because they have seven 'arms'. Ian nicknames them Abbott and Costello.
It's an amazing, suspenseful and brilliant film.

donderdag 17 november 2016

donderdag 17 november 2016 It's Stephen Colbert! In this revealing Late Show interview, the two world leaders make abundantly clear their feelings for each other. Doug Ericksen is a conservative asshole! Wash. GOP state senator to propose bill criminalizing "illegal protests" His bill would create a new crime of "economic terrorism" and would allow felony prosecution.
Sen Doug Ericksen might not care for #FirstAmmendment but he sure likes golfing & corporate lobbyists! F*&K! I need to get drunk! Remember the Bad Ol' Days? Does Fascism ring a bell?
Yeah... Sometimes I look back. Too far back.

woensdag 16 november 2016

woensdag 16 november 2016 It's movie madness! Wow! At midnight - Saving Private Ryan.
I forgot how violent and graphic this film was. The Omaha Beach scene... Oh my God! Heart-wrenching, somber, intense. Next movie - Hungry Hearts. Maybe just as disturbing. I want to watch something with Adam Driver in it. This film takes you into the world of a woman who becomes increasingly disturbed after becoming pregnant. Great acting all around! Then it's Hick. IMDB classifies this as a comedy - drama, but it's pretty intense. Eddie is a crazy SOB! Eventually, I get some fresh air. Up to the Cordata Food Co-op for a late lunch. Yummy Fang Fab Coconut Curry Soup! Oh, my! It’s so chilly outside with no end in sight. So why not warm up with a big bowl of this liquid sunshine and start thawing from the inside out?
The soup is a great break from the serious movies... and serious days. Thanks to Fangs Fab. Back to my place. Check it out... Trevor Noah compares Donald Trump to South African President Jacob Zuma, who also faces financial conflicts of interest, threatens to jail rivals and lashes out at the media.

dinsdag 15 november 2016

dinsdag 15 november 2016 Midnight movie - The Empire Strikes Back. Cue the Imperial March!
Students protest Trump in downtown Seattle. More than 5,000 students throughout Seattle took part in walkouts. I feel so proud of these kids.
Trump transition: "Stalled," "scrambling, "on pause" Signs of tumult within Trump's transition team as president-elect moves closer to filling out his cabinet. Oh! I really feel bad about that... NOT! "Let's make sure history never forgets... the name... Enterprise. Picard out." Yesterday's Enterprise is one of my favorites.

maandag 14 november 2016

maandag 14 november 2016 VIVAT COMMODUS Let's watch Roman Empire: Reign Of Blood. The lovely and talented Aaron Jakubenko plays Commodus.
Then a couple Time Travel films - Millennium. Two jetliners collide, and Bill Smith (Kris Kristofferson) is put in charge of investigating the accident. But something isn't adding up about the crash. People from the future are involved. Then Planet Of The Apes (2001). An astronaut - Mark Wahlberg - crash-lands on a planet inhabited by human-like apes, who rule with an iron fist.
I hardly sleep. Maybe a few minutes here and there. Turn on Stephanie Miller. She gets to rant with Ron Placone about the election. They bring it up - Trump in 2012: ‘The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy’
It's increasingly likely that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote.
Bike ride to Electric Avenue and down Lakeview Drive to the Co-op. Jimmi asks me, "What are you up to today?" I'm still not used to Bellingham people being that nice. They ignore you in Seattle. It's busy here. My lunch is some very yummy Potato and Pea Curry Stew. I love this view... the aura.
The 10-mile bike ride does me well. Nice big nap back home.

zondag 13 november 2016

zondag 13 november 2016 My heart will NOT go on! I want to see how 21 Pilots will change their lyrics and mood. Enjoy! Let's watch Forbidden Planet. I like to think that my own planet is forbidden. The Id-monster is an energy being created by Dr. Morbius's subconscious desires and given form and energy by the Krell machine. The Id monster gets whatever is needed to break through defensive fields, burn through doors, and to kill anyone in it's way.
Checking out Twenty One Pilots on twitter. They get around - Milan, London, Vienna.
Prague, Warsaw, Berlin, Copenhagen. Keep up the good work!
Another rainy-stay-inside day. I enjoy Ted 2 on HBO. Nothing like a raunchy comedy to brighten up a gloomy day.
