His Dark Materials is a new fantasy television series that I'm watching. I love it. Lyra's dæmon, Pantalaimon, is a very cute companion. She calls him "Pan". In common with all dæmons, he can take any animal form he pleases. His name in Greek means "all-compassionate".

Why is the Mandalorian carrying that green thing around? Whatever that Yoda baby is... Oy! He's such a wanton swamp rat!

donderdag 28 november 2019 Midnight movie - Soylent Green. One of the best eco-dystopian films ever made! I'll always remember the corpses on the conveyor belt, the bulldozers scooping up rioters, the unending squalor and the homeless sleeping on stoops.

Encore! More sword duels! More swashbuckling! A 😁 yay! Sean Flynn stars in The Son of Captain Blood. The Italian/Spanish/American international co-production isn't the best in quality. The sound gets out of sync. But the 1907 Kingston earthquake is re-enacted.

I am baptized by Oberlin's rain this morning, but I'm well protected by the Gore-Tex coat. I like listening to Democracy Now while walking in the rain. It feels like Seattle. I fall asleep while France 24 plays. I dream that I go to Paris to shop for a fancy walking cane. The clerk shows me his fashionable, historic and expensive collection. I remove the knobby top of one cane... a secret compartment!  I chose an authentic Irish shillelagh.

France 24 looks ahead to a massive strike planned for December 5, Libération publishes a poll finding that the majority of French people think Emmanuel Macron fails to understand their struggles.

We had joy, we had fun. We had Seasons In The Sun. But the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time. Sun and blue skies!

Walk through Tappan Square and pass by lovely Burton Hall. Good morning, Mudd Center. It closed at 2AM, and it re-opens at 8AM.

I'm still thrilled about the Seahawks’s 17-9 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. They're still strong on the road. Go, Hawks!

I'm liking WOBC more and more. The theme this afternoon was Songs of Protest and Change. The DJ plays his own guitar and harmonica to perform gloriously Waiting On The World For Change. The song's theme - by John Mayer - centers on the singer and his generation's inaction in regard to current world conditions. However, he attributes this inaction to a lack of power. The Dragon Prince is epic! Emotionally powerful and full of exciting twists and turns. Poor Sol Regem - a fearsome dragon blinded in a battle with a human.

Interesting program - So You Want To Be President. They play the song lists of the candidates running for President. Bernie Sanders' list includes Revolution by Flogging Molly. Let the revolution begin!

We have a little sleet on the ground from last night. I pass by the Oberlin Country Club. November... and the trees are stripped bare.

This morning, I watched the full MSNBC & Washington Post Democratic Debate in Atlanta. Wow! Cory Booker raised $650K after the debate. He got new endorsements from black & Hispanic elected officials. Cory Booker grabbed my attention, too.

At first, we have bright beautiful blue skies, but it gets gloomy fast. I pick up some movies at the OPL and ice cream at the IGA. But I'm feeling landlocked. I used to be surrounded by water.

I watch Surfer, Dude. Just like the Surfer Dude... I just want those sweet waves, salty air and maybe a few seagulls cawing.

vrijdag 22 november 2019 Midnight movie - Airplane! Bless her heart... Ethel Merman plays her last screen role as Lieutenant Hurwitz, a shell-shocked soldier. Makes me laugh every time. Up for a long morning walk with WOBC. I'm listening to "The Climate Conversation" with great interest. People from Sunrise Oberlin were on the show talking about the Green New Deal and politics. Gov. Inslee was a subject of conversation. I ❤️ my old governor. Great show guys! 🙂 The case for Jay Inslee - the only candidate treating climate change the way the science says climate change should be treated.

I doubt that my blog makes anyone laugh... at least I'm not intentional in that way. Connor Franta is very clever and funny, and I like watching his vlogs (from time to time). I hope that the Los Angeles Air Quality Index gets better for you, Connor.

The Grapes of Wrath is a 1940 American drama film based on John Steinbeck's 1939 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name. It's about an Oklahoma family who moved to California during the Dust Bowl 1930s. Henry Fonda's performance as Tom Joad got a nomination from the Academy. As Ma Joad said We're the people. I don't go to bed until 5AM. The windows in my apartment face East, so the bright sun beams right into it. So, I'm up for Stephanie Miller. I hear a great parody by Rocky Mountain Mike of Elton John's 1995 hit song The Bitch is Back - Yovanovitch is Back. I went to the oncologist in Elyria today. That was a waste of time. Back home to watch the 2019 Finnish-German comic science fiction action film Iron Sky: The Coming Race. (It reminds me a little of the 1984 campy, sci-fi movie Buckaroo Banzai.)

zondag 17 november 2019 'Saturday Night Live' gives impeachment hearings a melodramatic twist. SNL included Cleveland Browns' Myles Garrett (Kenan Thompson) into all their taunting. And with his helmet, he hit Rudy Giuliani (Kate McKinnon) in the head and fixed him.

Days of Our Impeachment Cold Open - SNL. Fun show! Trick is a 1999 American gay-themed romantic comedy film. It's been a while. I love the Lesbian Diner Scene towards the end. What a monologue by Katherine! Oh my god, I have to tell you about this really artsy party this French-Canadian girl in my acting class threw...

Out to say 'hi' to the cardinals, blue jays, squirrels and The Rock.
