dinsdag 31 december 2019 Well... This is the last day of 2019. I watch The Day The Earth Stood Still. The message of this 2008 American science fiction thriller film is We Must Change Our Ways Or Else. It's doom. Our hero, Klaatu, speaks with fellow alien Mr. Wu at a McDonald's. Mr. Wu: Any attempt to intercede with them would be futile. They are destructive, and they won't change.

maandag 30 december 2019 There's the cold kind of dreary... Ohio. Then, there's the dry, hot dreariness of The Forbidden Zone in the 1968 American science fiction film Planet of the Apes.

It's a stay-inside-day - 36°F and with a very cold drizzle. (Yes! I've been outside to actually feel the displeasure of the weather.) What's the next Forbidden Zone? Maybe the fabulous Mark Wahlberg will find it in the next dimension- Planet of the Apes (2001).

Christmas in Columbus. We need a trailer for all the gifts. I end up holding garbage bags full of presents in my lap.

The rain is intense driving down I-71. Visibility is minimal. Hydroplaning is possible. Scariness! Suddenly, the rain lets up.

I envy my grand-nephew. He gets a DC Super Friends Hall of Justice set... And he gets an 8-pack of heroes and villains. Lex Luthor!

I can't sleep, so I continue my marathon with MST3K: The Undead. And... Are you ready for some TERRRRRORRRRRRRRR!?!?! MST3K: Terror from the Year 5000. Midnight snack! Bobo makes a nice sandwich with rye, lettuce, tomato, a little mayonnaise, and thick slices of an Observer's brain. OW!

vrijdag 27 december 2019 His humid, fleshy extentions struggle as he attempts to dominate some simple, seemingly purposeless toy. Already a sense of pity overcomes me, and yet I am repelled by my own compassion! Although his biological makeup implies a living thing, I'm certain we will discover him to be but an animated piece of refuse or feces. But I must remain impartial and continue to study even as he mocks everything I hold dear. I hate him, and can take comfort only in my own cool detachment -Observer studying Mike.

In MST3K: The Thing That Could Die (805), one of the Observers comes to the SOL to observe in person. He annoys and insults the crew, so they eject him from the ship, sans brain. Fun segment! In our midnight movie, a strange box is discovered containing the intact head of Gideon Drew, a man executed for sorcery 400 years earlier.

It's still a mild 56°F. The sun is in and out. Just a little walk to Tappan Square. Way down there is Bosworth Hall with its Romanesque tower and hand-carved medieval doorways. Fairchild Chapel is inside.

In honor of Timothée Chalamet's 24th birthday, I watch Interstellar. He plays the role of Tom Cooper, the 15-year-old son of Matthew McConaughey's character - Cooper.

The Emperor Ming: Pathetic earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void, without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe, anything at all, you would've hidden from it in terror.

donderdag 26 december 2019 Midnight movie - MST3K: The Deadly Mantis. But I got a mantis in my pantis -Crow. The creature takes a scenic tour... visits the Washington Monument and New York. He crawls into a tunnel where they throw chemical bombs at its face.

California’s wild winter begins with heavy snow, pounding rain and tornado warnings. Yep. People are traveling for the holidays. I find myself in a subtropical Ohio 61°F today. I really don't need my jacket. What? It feels warm, but the trees are bare.

It's the new Season 2 of Lost in Space. The castaway Space Family Robinson is crazy with their robots, hyperspace rifts and... (OH!) that Doctor Smith! I gobble it up!

This is fun! Merci la Suisse Police! Cute! with the Vulcan hand sign. Heute wird ein guter Tag.

I fall asleep watching MST3K: Being from Another Planet. I have strange dreams from the movie's noises and screams.

Christmas will be celebrated in exile at Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois since Notre-Dame de Paris is closed. It's been a tradition in France for many years. No Christmas Mass at Notre-Dame for the first time in two centuries. Report on The Restoration. It's already Xmas in the DPRK. Tensions mount as people expect missiles. Trump says North Korea is planning nice Christmas gift. There's nothing like breathing freezing fog. Cough... cough.

zondag 22 december 2019 Christmas in Denmark. Last night, I dreamt that I celebrated Christmas in Denmark. Everyone was very merry and wearing red hats and red caps. Glædelig Jul! Tom Daley and Matty Lee set up a little Christmas tree.

zaterdag 21 december 2019 Run, Bek! Snake Monster!

It's the ultimate battle between good and evil in this epic fantasy-adventure Saturday-morning spectacular movie - Gods of Egypt. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has 4 showings at the Apollo. I had such a fun time there on Thursday night... watching it with the community. The people clapped for Star Wars! (I didn't.)

Decent weather for Winter. Bike ride up to Walmart to get my Eliquis. Blue sky, sunshine and the snow is finally melting. Oberlin College has been abandoned. It's the end of Fall Semester.

Dylan O'Brien... one peaceful moment during American Assassin. I'm trying to get the gist of this movie. Sorry, I can't.

woensdag 18 december 2019 Midnight movie - 2004 epic historical war drama film Troy. Paris offers to duel Menelaus personally for Helen's hand in exchange for the city being spared. Oh, sweet Paris! He is wounded, defeated and faced death by Menelaus' sword.

Weird dream last night about aliens studying various families. Testing drugs. Mind-washing. Someone escapes somehow.

Up for Stephanie Miller. Russia and cyber terrorism expert Malcolm Nance - author of the book The Plot To Betray America - talks about how Putin has compromised the Republican Party (the United Republican Party). Don't wreck Democracy and the USA! Dan, Lisa, mom and I lunch together at the Black River Café. My silly little selfie at the restaurant. Mom's hiding behind the poinsettia. I need to practice more. Aim. Point. Click!

I have to say that mom was such a brave trooper! She walked with her cane down the salty sidewalks. It's breezy (and 8° wind chill). But she loved her Salmon Burger, and we shopped at Walmart.
