Streetcar to Whole Foods. Find some things for lunch. I love their Chicken Salad. Breaks for Kechelle, Charmaine, Anne, Elaine and Toni. Then I set up lunches for Starfish and Seahorses. 12 - Anne's lunch. Eight Sea Otters finish lunch. The kids are staying awake a little longer today. Lynette is subbing for Pam. 1 - It's Lynette's lunch. I take Odin - the no-napper - to the Bike Room. 2 - Patty's lunch. Wow. It's a magical nap time. The 8 kids sleep. The weather is acting crazy. The news shows an angry crowd putting Seattle's police department on the defensive Thursday night as the city's top cop faced tough questions and demands for his resignation. Black refried beans on toast for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. They bring up Chris Matthews' comments about Egypt. John Fugelsang does a great impression of Chris. "Let me finish! Ha!" Up to Kaladi for some of Lauren's lovely coffee.

Walk down University. It's nice to see lights on again in the Marlborough. It's been un-occupied for almost 3 years. Back at my place, I turn on Morning Joe. I normally don't watch this show, but I want to catch up with Cairo in video. This vid from YouTube stirs me... But only 100 views. People In Egypt Rise Up.

Head out to the playground to spend time with the Dolphins and Sea Otters. 11 - Charmaine's lunch. The Seahorses are inside. Patty has them clean up the room before going outside. It's funny. These kids are good at putting away their toys... Not so good about putting on their coats. It's rather breezy. When I blow bubbles, they fly all over the place. 12 - Cristin's lunch. I eat my lunch with the 7 Starfish. After lunch, we sit and read lots of books. The kids lay down for nap time. 1 - Sarah's lunch. One non-napper keeps us busy. 2 - Over to Seahorses for Patty's lunch. The Seahorses sleep. Nice and quiet. Oliver wakes up to the noise next door. He's not used to their racket. Streetcar to d'town. Walk up 5th Avenue to the 5th Avenue.

Noodles, stir fry Chinese eggplant with a fried egg for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Political analyst David Bender joins the show in the Los Angeles Bureau at to talk about Egypt, surprises from Donald Rumsfeld, and the GOP tacking right on social issues. I find out that a lot of reporters got roughed up in Cairo... even Anderson Cooper.

Anderson Cooper is refusing to leave Egypt, even after being wounded, as well as being urged by his CNN bosses to leave the country. CNN officials told Cooper they can "no longer guarantee his security." Walk up Westlake to work listening to Weekday on the radio. Steve Scher interviews the lovely and interesting Winona LaDuke. They compare musical interests. Steve has never heard of peace activist and musician Michael Franti? I've been a fan of him for years. Ah, yes. They play Michael Franti's Bomb The World during the break.

Anyway, the subject for Weekday is The Next Energy Economy With Winona LaDuke. She talks about her progress with The White Earth Land Recovery Project. I get a double dose of Weekday today. Teresa is playing KUOW in the kitchen. I listen to Generation Hot: Climate Change With Journalist Mark Hertsgaard while I wash dishes. Yes, I'm concerned for our children... Every child on earth born after June 23, 1988, belongs to Generation Hot. That's what environmental journalist Mark Hertsgaard calls them. Generation Hot includes over two billion young people who will spend the rest of their lives confronting the impacts with global warming. The book is Hot: Living Through the Next Fifty Years on Earth. Good reading, I bet.

I deliver the clean dishes to the classrooms. I have time to play outside with the Dolphins and Sea Otters. 12 - Pam's lunch. The 6 Sea Otters finish lunch. I love how don't finish all at once. One by one, they clean up and plop down on their nap mats. 1 - Anne's lunch. It's a quiet hour, so I use it to send photos to a couple teachers. 2 - Planning time for Anne and Pam. Ella wakes up first. We hang out at the table with books and a pretty silver purse. What an easy-going day! I catch the 3 o'clock streetcar to d'town. Actually, I stop at Whole Foods to get some paper towels, cheese, salad bar and Pomegranate Italian Soda. Back at my place. Turn on KOMO News. Watch Star Trek Deep Space Nine - The Nagus.

Chicken Kimchi Udon noodle soup for dinner. Switch to MSNBC. My apologies from Seattle. While we have a luscious winter high of 51° the rest of the country is in the deep freeze. Really incredible freezy. Do I need to bring out The Day After Tomorrow for you? A Cyclone Rips Through Queensland.

woensdag 2 februari 2011 Up at 1:47. Report - Worst Winter Storm In Decades Pound Central US. Fall back to sleep again. Alarm goes off. Doy! Tuna fish salad sandwich for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Steph interviews Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) about the GOP’s efforts to take away health care reform.

Up to Kaladi for coffee. I overhear Luka's conversation with another costumer saying "I grew up in the Portland of the South." "What's the Portland of the South?" I ask. "Asheville, NC." Back to my place for Hump Days With Hal. Hal and Steph talk about the Monster Winter Storm with their Chicago accents. Hal shows us his recent photo shoot with Suicide Girls.


Speaking of weather, Cyclone Yasi really concerns me. Someone superimposed an radar image of this storm on the US. Report - How Cyclone Yasi Compares In Size In Countries. Wow!

Switch to the Today Show. There's Al Roker in Chicago. Lake Shore is closed. I hear an interesting comment. "I think the polar ice caps are deforming... over the US." Today, we plan to enjoy a rather pleasant day in Seattle - blue skies, sunshine, with a high of 49° yay! Walk up Westlake to work. I'm chasing up and down and Inside and Outside for breaks for Justine, Kechelle, Darnell and Patty - Rainforest, Sunshine, M & S and Seahorses. 11 - Charmaine's lunch. Kenn is covering for Patty's meetings. We take the 7 Seahorses out to the playground. There's a minor rebellion to leave the classroom, but we call in Egypt's security forces. (Just kidding.) We have fun outside. Raul hangs out with us. I like his positive energy. My energy is slowing down. 12 - Pam's lunch. Over to Sea Otters for the end of lunchtime and the beginning of nap time. They all easily go to sleep. 1 - Anne's lunch. There's still lots of coughing at nap time. That wakes up a couple kids early. 2 - Patty's lunch. The Seahorses are asleep. But Alex wakes up early. I read The Cat In The Hat when more kids wake up. Streetcar to d'town. Drop off stuff at my place. Take a little walk around d'town to enjoy the sunshine... just to 3rd & Spring and back up Pike. Listen to podcast of Weekday. My mind is spinning from the talk of Black Holes, String Theory, Sparticles, Super Symetry, the Multiverse, the Big Bang, the Big Crunch, Gravity, Dark Matter, Dark Energy and the Brane Multiverse. As the sun begins to rise in Egypt, thousands are camping out in Cairo's Tahrir Square ahead of the march due to start at 11.00 am. IN THE PAPERS INTERNATIONAL discuss "Mubarak Is Finished Whatever Happens." Even with this intense "live" news coverage, I manage to fall back to sleep. Up with alarm. Watch KOMO News. They focus on the big winter storm marching through the US. They give us views of snow in Oklahoma City and Dallas. Wow. It's only 19° in Dallas. Spicy rice and hard boiled egg for breakfast. I take 5 of them out and leave Charmaine with 2 of them. It's a chilly but brilliant day. Misti gives me the pleasurable job of taking pictures of kids playing on the playground. The Moons and Stars are doing the Hokey Pokey.



12 - Pam's lunch. Back inside with the Sea Otters. Some of them are still eating lunch. Some are going down for naps. Some naps are easier than others. 1 - Anne's lunch. Pam deals with a particularly stubborn No Napper. It's cough & cold season. Some wake up early coughing. 2 - Patty's lunch. Charmaine leaves early and Charity covers for her. Someone wakes up with a fever. Oy! Glad to leave and get away from the germs. Streetcar to d'town. Bus tunnel to Uwajimaya. Get some Udon noodle beef and Teriyaki chicken in the food court. #545 back to Union and dump off stuff at my place. Watch KOMO News. Teriyaki chicken and fried rice for dinner. Watch MSNBC.
