They talk about the Harry Reid kerfuffle. The GOP yesterday accused Dems of applying a double standard by accepting Sen. Harry Reid’s apology for racial remarks about Barack Obama instead of demanding Reid’s ouster as majority leader. In a private conversation reported in a new book, Reid described Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign as a “light-skinned” African-American “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” Reid apologized to Obama on Saturday and Obama issued a statement accepting the apology. I bet that if we remove Reid for someone more effective... I bet Sen Al Franken could do a hell of a job. Left-over organic burrito with fried egg for breakfast. Bath. Write a letter for Nana. Mail a bill and the letter. Streetcar to work. 10 to 11 - Breaks for Pam, Teresa, Sharyn and Olivia. 11 to 12 - Charmaine's lunch. Seven Sea Otters are cooped up inside because it's pouring rain. Patty brings out the turquoise salt table. The kids are really involved in this. Sharyn does lunch prep. Alex conked out on the futon before lunchtime. He wakes up after a short 20-minute nap, so he doesn't miss lunch. 12 to 12:45 - Pam's lunch. Five Dolphins go down early for naps. I get some laundry to fold. Then, I get a break. 1 to 2 - Teresa's lunch. Piper rolls off her mat and wakes up. Pam and I take turns entertaining her. 2 to 3 - Patty leaves early. Wyatt wakes up coughing. He keeps coughing, but he's not distressed about it. Wyatt and I go next door to the Dolphin classroom... since they're all awake. The rest of the Sea Otters sleep. Streetcar to d'town.
