vrijdag 13 augustus 2010 Up with alarm. Turn on Stephanie Miller. They talk about Dr. Laura's rant - saying the “n-word” 11 times in five minutes.
Wow! Dr. Laura took the opportunity of the caller's cry for help to exert a conservative rant on race, even invoking a shot at the NAACP. Steph says something before the break... "Stick around for the next hour. Mama's got something to tell you." Excitement in the 2nd hour... Steph says that she's a gay woman. Fantastic! I'm rather surprised about it. Hash browns and salmon for breakfast. Walk up to Kaladi to get some of Jeremiah's marvelous coffee. Walk back to my place. Sip my coffee while listening to more of Stephanie Miller's story. Callers and Tweeters are very supportive of her announcement. Here's a tweet from Hal Sparks.
I feel happy for her. But Google Earth is my personal brand of crack. I discover a small city near Paris with Google Earth - Poissy. It's fun to look at the views of cobble stone streets, the houses, the churches and the Réseau Express Régional station. Walk up Westlake to work. 10 to 11 - Open space. I love it. I use it to fold some laundry. Hang out with the Sea Otters on the deck. Andy is extra, too. Andy and I appreciate the name of one of the kids - Odin - the Norse god of War and Poetry. 11 - Charmaine's lunch. The Seahorses are playing with the Rainforest Kids on the big playground. It's getting hot. The sun is beating down on us. I stay in the shadows. 12 - Renee's break. Most of the Starfish are done with lunch. Some of the kids fell asleep during their stroller ride for a few minutes. So, there is some resistance to sleep at nap time. 1 - Michelle's lunch. She's subbing for Cristin today. All the Starfish eventually go to sleep. Piper is a fighter today. Stella yells at me, too. 2 - Patty's lunch. Over to the slightly more mature Seahorses. They are asleep. It's nice to relax, but my coughing stirs some of the kids. This stupid cough! Walk up to Whole Foods to get some goodies. Just stay at home. Listen to podcast of The World. They talk about the big chunk of ice which fell off Greenland.
Watch France 24. Europe seems to be proud of herself. Report - Eurozone Growth Surpasses US.
Amsterdam-based Nick Kounis of ABN AMRO said worries over a "double-dip" recession now centre "on the other side of the Atlantic." USA! USA! USA! C'mon USA... Huh?
Watch Sliders - Eggheads. Athleticism is put in its proper place — recreation — in a world that treats its most accomplished intellectuals as superstars. Quinn and Arturo arrive as conquering heroes, fresh from their greatest achievement — sliding.
Quinn plays in the Mindgame Tournament. Mindgames! If competing in a game he doesn't understand isn't bad enough, it gets much worse when he finds out how much his double owes the Mafia in bad gambling debts. Spicy orange beef and coconut rice for dinner. Watch Star Trek The Next Generation - Schisms. I conk out.
