It's election day. Up at 4:09. Turn on WINS 1010. PATH is partially restored. But why are Christopher Street and 9th Street stations still closed? Lentil soup for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. She's freaking out that Mercury is going into retrograde.
Beside various planets, a lot of stars come on the show. Spectacular. Lovely conversation with Jake Gyllenhaal. Wooooo! More stars - Sarah Jessica Parker, Rob Reiner, Vivica Fox, and John Cho. I'm with Rob Reiner. I'm a Nate Silver guy, too. Rob is feeling pretty good about the president’s chances. Nate Silver, New York Times FiveThirtyEight blog author, has called President Obama to be a clear winner. Walk up Westlake to work. A lot of time outside giving teachers their breaks. I get some time to do review work. Set up lunches for the Sea Otters. The kids are not hunger... except one. They'd rather play. Actually, we settle down with some books. School Bus is popular.
Naps are a little wacky, but all the kids sleep. I take a couple early-risers to the Bike Room. Streetcar to Whole Foods. Get some stuff... including a little bottle of Dolin Vermouth de Chambéry - $10.99. Martini? Perhaps. Walk down to my place. Whew! Stiff breezes kick up every now and then. Turn on Live Video from Democracy Plaza in NYC. I need Bruce Springsteen to hold my hand... and a hug.
I'm getting a brain freeze. Too many numbers, percentages, projections! I need a little fresh Fall air. Go, R-74.
Walk up Pike and down Pine. I see a lot of big screens glowing with election coverage. Bill's Off Broadway is hopping. There are a few victory parties scheduled tonight for YES on R-74. Then... Rachel Maddow advises - Get comfortable, folks, the nation's direction for the near future will be decided tonight. Wow! Chicago to New York erupts at 8:15. Obama is elected President.
