It is Rhododendron Day for me today. There are 1,024 species of the woody plant. (From Ancient Greek ῥόδον rhódon "rose" and δένδρον déndron "tree") It's the Washington State weed.

My dad was an amateur (yet knowledgeable) botanist. He would love all this diverse beauty. Rhododendron Nova Zembla!
