The Tholian ship fires on the Enterprise precisely when the allotted time is up.
Space is a vast and wondrous place, but it is also full of baffling irregularities and aberrations... Spatial interphase is only #9 on the list of the most Mind-Bending anomalies.
Anomaly #2 is my favorite! So, in the cold and windy darkness of Ohio, I'm re-watching Strange New Worlds: Subspace Rhapsody.
