zaterdag 17 april 2010 Up at 5:58. Turn on BBC News. Interesting documentary about the Pontic Greeks of Trabzon, Turkey.
It's possible that this is the region where Jason and the Argonauts sailed to find the Golden Fleece. Return To Trebizond talks about the pilgrimage of the Pontic Greeks to the Sümela Monastery. News about more airports closing as volcanic ash from Iceland moves across Europe. The name of the volcano is Eyjafjallajökull. Eyjafjallajökull. Eyjafjallajökull. >>> Eyjafjallajökull. Say that 3 times really fast! Pesto pasta and fried egg for breakfast. Shower. Walk up to Trader Joe's. I notice posters on Pike and Pine... Boycott El Corazon.
At Trader Joe's, I get some habenero salsa, Chicken Vindaloo rice bowl, Pinot Grigio and Assagio cheese. There's a very light drizzle on my way up, but it's mild enough to wear shorts today. 56° Drop off stuff at my place. Finish movie - Let The Right One In.
Håkan has killed a series of local residents in succession in order to drain and collect their blood to provide sustenance for Eli. He almost kills a High School boy. He changes his mind and decides he cannot go on this way. He pours acid on his face. Eli visits Håkan in the hospital. He lets Eli feed on him, then he throws himself out the window. Now alone, Eli goes to Oskar's apartment and sleeps the night with him, during which time they agree to "go steady" at Oskar's suggestion. Eli is getting hungry, so she feeds on Ginia. Ginia slowly turns into a vampire. While, in the hospital, Ginia bursts into flames when an attendant opens the window shades. The film concludes with Oskar traveling on a train, with Eli in a trunk beside him. Inside, Eli taps the word "kiss" to Oskar in Morse code, which he taps back. The future of their relationship is going to be quite interesting. Next movie - Millions.
Millions tells the story of 7-year-old Damian, whose family moves to the suburbs of Widnes after the death of his mother. Damian builds a cardboard house - which he dubs "The Hermitage" - near the railroad tracks. A bag of money is thrown from the train and wrecks his house. He shows his brother, Anthony, the money and asks him what should they do with it. SPEND IT! Damian is obsessed with saints, studying their biographies and even seeing them in his day-to-day activities as visions. Damian commits small acts of kindness like buying birds from pet stores and setting them free and taking beggars to Pizza Hut, while Anthony bribes other kids at school into being his transportation and bodyguards.
