zaterdag 13 maart 2010 Up at 6:10. Turn on KEXP... listening to Mind Over Matters. The interview with a person the Alliance For Biking And Walking catches my attention... with some interesting statistics. Only 1.67% of Americans commute by bicycle. In Japan, 15% commute by bicycle. About 12 bicycles can be parked in the space required for one automobile. Traffic jams in the 29 major cities cost commuters an estimated $24.3 billion each year. The average cost of a new car in the U.S. is $13,532. The average cost of a new bicycle in the U.S. is $385. The average number of barrels of oil consumed daily in the United States is 17 million. Driving consumes 43% of those barrels of oil. · Industrial world cities typically use at least one third of their land for roads and parking lots for motor vehicles. · Commuting by bicycle produces zero pollution. How glorious, America! Blazing - Like - A - Fire!

Left-over rice and Sweet & Sour Chicken for breakfast. Oh! It's Wait, Wait! The Oddly Informative News Quiz. Walk to d'town. Commotion!

It's the Saint Patrick's Day parade. I hear only one real Irish accent... among many other accents in the crowd - Arabic, Chinese and SE American. Here is one amazing 3-year-old taking pictures with his father's camera while sitting on his father's shoulders.

There's also a commotion at the WSCTC... Actor Leonard Nimoy, best known as Mr. Spock from the Star Trek series, gives the iconic Vulcan salute during Emerald City ComiCon on Saturday March 13, 2010 at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center in Seattle.

Back to my place to listen to Rick Steves' program. He explores Western Ireland. Play movie - Sex And The City. I like the thread with Samantha and her lover... and her fascination with the boy next door.

Nice view of Central Park.

Samantha (Kim Cattrall) is living with Smith (Jason Lewis), who has a successful television career playing a Doctor on a prime time soap opera. They live in a seaside luxury apartment in Malibu (near Los Angeles), where Samantha is finding it difficult to take time for herself. She is traveling frequently between L.A. and New York, and grappling with her persistent desire for sex with other men; her handsome and sexually active next-door-neighbor, Dante (Gilles Marini), in particular.
