More documentaries about space, please! The Martian canals! Percival Lowell established an observatory which was used for the exploration of Mars during the 1894 opposition. He published several books on Mars and life on the planet, which had a great influence on the public. September 8 is Star Trek Day, and 2021 marks the occasion's 55th anniversary. On this day in 1966, Star Trek made its debut on TV, forever changing the genre of science fiction as we know it.
