vrijdag 30 maart 2012 Up with alarm, but lay in bed almost an hour. Sesame noodles and egg for breakfast. Watch movie - Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi... struggling to return freedom to the galaxy.
Walk up Westlake to work while listening to Weekday - Human Trafficking, Author Anne Lamott On Grandparenting, And Seattle's Comics Counterculture. Pam gives me a project - putting up coat hooks in the staff lounges. Sharon gets a break. Then it's Cristin's lunch at 11. The 7 Starfish play outside. At least it's not raining on us. But I hear the kids complain about the cold. When we go inside, circle time is a bust. They eat lunch early. 12 - Anne's lunch. Only 5 Seahorses. Mellow hour. 1 - Toni's lunch. All the kids are asleep. Time to relax. 2 - Olivia's lunch. One is awake already. Cristin takes her to the Infant Room. Hope to walk home, but it's rather blustery. Streetcar to d'town. Watch KOMO News. George Takei shows up.
He's here for Comicon. We find that he is a proponent of gay rights and equal marriage. And George has a good sense of humor.

donderdag 29 maart 2012 Up with alarm. Oy! I want to sleep more. Turn on KOMO News. Report about protest at Westlake Park calling for justice in the killing of Trayvon Martin. About 200 people showed up yesterday.
Beans on toast for breakfast. Bath. Watch - MST3K: Bride Of The Monster. Streetcar to work. It's to rainy to walk. It's a "stay inside day" with the kids... except the Sea Otters bravely head out into the rain. Breaks for Kenn, Anne, Toni and Cristin. The Starfish are practicing their yoga poses. They're learning. I'm impressed. The teachers follow the book - The ABC's Of Yoga For Kids.
I cover for Cristin's planning time. Channel covers for Olivia. The 6 Starfish get lots of free play... Maybe too much. I'm busy making "boxes" out of tinker toys, and then I set up lunches. 12 - Anne's lunch. Today, the kids are playing the name game while eating. "What's your mommy's name?" All the Seahorses and all the Starfish sleep. It's a very magical nap time especially the Starfish. Sleep, children, sleep. Streetcar to d'town. Turn on The World. I get caught in a downpour, and then the rain lets up. Turn on KOMO News. WSCTC is getting ready for Comicon. Tomorrow! Tomorrow! Tomorrow!

Walk up Westlake to work. 10 - Planning time for Charmaine. Kenn covers for Patty. I tell Kenn about the show - Jay & Silent Bob Get Old. Here in Seattle! Hang out with the Dolphins. I love how Asher plops himself in my lap with a book. "Is it story time?" I ask him. "Yeah." he replies. They have so many toys, though. It's like a tornado hit the place. After we clean up, we go outside. 11 - Cristin's lunch. The Starfish are playing on the big play ground. They are giving each other rides in the wheel barrels. The rain comes, but we keep playing. 12 - Over to the Seahorses. Parents are having a brown bag lunch time with their kids. Fun! Only one cries when mommy leaves. 1 - Toni's lunch. All the Seahorses sleep... except one. He's kind of loud, too. He wakes up someone next door. 2 - Olivia's lunch. I take our early-riser to Joyce's room The babies look up at him. Streetcar to d'town. Turn on KOMO News. Yay! M's Win Season-Opener 3-1 In Japan! Ichiro looks great!

Down to Westlake Center to do a little window shopping. Daiso has rainbow slinkies. It's a busy store. Streetcar back to work. Big meeting about BBP and transition models... 140 minutes. Oy! Streetcar to work. Outside with the Dolphins and Sea Otters to give their teachers breaks. Then the Starfish come out. They use the Infant playground. 11 - Cristin's lunch. Take a few kids inside to set up lunches. 12 - Anne's lunch. Toni is out, and Kenn subs for her. Of course, the Seahorses get silly at lunch time. 1 - Kenn's lunch. We have one non-napper. 2 - Sam wakes up early. We head to the lobby to feed the fish some peas. Streetcar to d'town. Turn on The World. Hot bath. Walk up Westlake to work. Hang out with the Seahorses while Anne and Toni take their breaks. Dash sits in my lap while I read Corduroy Goes To The Beach. He's really into the beach scene - surfing, playing frisbee, swimming, the seagulls, etc.
Move outside to meet the Starfish on the playground. Lovely day for play. Kenn is extra, so I go inside to set up lunches and mats. On my break, I check CNN - Obama: 'If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon'. President Barack Obama weighs in today on the shooting of unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin, calling it a national tragedy. Over to Seahorses for lunchtime and naps. Everyone sleeps. Fold some laundry. Quiet time. Over to Starfish. Finn is coughing while asleep. Poor guy. Early risers to the Bike Room. Streetcar to d'town. Change clothes for the warmer weather. Walk up to Denny and back down Terry to my place. Watch a special episode of featuring the Green Ranger - Power Rangers SPD: Abridged. Cute episode. We love you, Green Ranger!

Macaroni salad for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Romney has suffered an etch-a-sketch moment, and Steph mocks him for it. Rachel Maddow enumerates the lies he tells daily, the cynicism with which those lies are told, and goes on to explain why Romney is undermining democracy and the office of President when he lies so easily just to get the job. Hot bath. Up to Kaladi for some coffee. The I-love-your-shirt guy is on duty. Back to my place to watch more France 24. They're still going on about Mohamed Merah - The boy next-door who ‘brought France to its knees’.
Walk up Westlake to work. Kenn and Sharon get breaks. The mighty Sea Otters are playing in the water table. Patti gets a break, too. The Dolphins clean up their classroom to go outside. Meet the Starfish out on the big playground for Cristin's break then Olivia takes a lunch. We build a big house with the waffle blocks. I set their lunches and mats. I join them for circle time, too. Yay for Ol' McDonald! I spend the rest of the day with the Seahorses. They are rather quiet at lunch time. That's weird. But they go down for naps early. All (except one) are asleep by 1:00. Quiet time. Early to sleep, early to rise... Set up the Dr. Suess Matching Game for the kids.
Streetcar to d'town. Change my clothes. T-shirt and shorts for me! It's nice outside. A little taste of Spring. The Star Magnolias are the early bloomers.
With the amazing beauty of nature, I am disturbed listening to NPR's report - Racial Tension Runs Through Sanford's Roots. Justice, please. Justice! So much unnecessary suffering.

A rather thorough report of 2:33 by KING-5. Couscous and egg salad for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. There's Hal Sparks in the corner.
Journalist and author Matt Taibbi calls in to talk about his latest Rolling Stone article - Why Bank of America is Too Crooked To Fail. Nice hot bath. Turn on KUOW. They talk about PTSD diagnoses. 40% of them were reversed at Madigan, and Senator Murray wants to know why. Walk up Westlake to work. I join the Dolphins out on the playground to give Sharon a break. This group loves the sandbox. Inside to join the Seahorses in the Bike Room to break Anne and Kenn. (He's subbing for Toni today.) Then I join the Starfish for Olivia's break and Cristin's lunch. The kids are rather unimpressed with my bubbles. Olivia tells me about a film she wants to see - The Hunger Games which debuts this week. The plot sounds gruesome and sad.
I take a couple kids inside with me to set up lunches and mats. They play with the new train set while I work. Over to Seahorses for Anne's lunch. It's fairly chaotic lunch time. Oy! It's Wacky Wednesday! Everyone is packed up by 12:25. Whew! They take a while to settle down for nap time as well. When it is time for Kenn's break, all the kids are asleep, thankfully. Later, I cover for Cristin's Bike Room project. There are a couple early risers which I take outside. A fun way to end my day. Turn on The World and listen to reports of finding the suspected gunman in Toulouse. It's a stand-off with the gunman and the police.

Streetcar to d'town. Drop off stuff and change into shorts. Walk up Seneca to B'way down Pike to my place. I need to check France 24 about the gunman when I get home. Report - 'Gunman' calls FRANCE 24 hours before pre-dawn raid.

In a very orderly manner, the Seahorses clean up the classroom, put on their coats and head outside. We're still dealing with gusty winds. I'm extra, so I set up the lunches for the Starfish. Those kids are in a mood, I see. 12 - Anne's lunch. The 6 Seahorse eat lunch with me. They're curious about my can of Blue Diamond Almonds BOLD Wasabi & Soy Sauce. Over to Starfish for Cristin's lunch. It's a challenge but all of the kids go to sleep for nap time. Back to Seahorses for Toni's lunch. One-by-one, the kids wake up. Do a few diapers. Put away the mats. Time to go home. Walk up to Whole Foods to pick up some things. Back at my place. Watch Space Precinct - Hate Street. On to MSNBC. Oh! What a surprise! Romney Wins Illinois GOP Primary.

Report - Four Shot Dead At Jewish School In Toulouse. Teenagers and adults react after the shooting at the Ozar Hatorah Jewish school in Toulouse, France.
This is sad. I'm so sorry for the loss of young lives. Streetcar to work. Up to Rainforest Kids to give Sarah a break. They're in a circle talking about recycling - Recycling For Kids. The Starfish tip-toe out to the playground. Cute. We get a little sunshine. I take a couple kids in with me to set up lunches. 12 - Anne's lunch. I eat my ramen with the kids. 1 - Toni's lunch. All the Seahorses sleep at nap time. Yay! 2 - Up to Moons & Stars for Charity's lunch break. I watch vigil for a non-napper. Streetcar to d'town. Drop off stuff. Short walk around Capitol Hill. There's concern about the Tunnel Boring Cracking A 88-Year-Old Building up there. It's the Capitol Building.
Hang in there, little building. The drill should reach the Capitol Hill Station tomorrow evening. Back at my place. I relax and watch MST3K: The Robot vs The Aztec Mummy. Robot, yay! Aztec Mummy, boo! But I love the attack of the Demon Dogs.

Tom Servo tries to put up a fight, but gets peed on because he resembles a fire hydrant. This is just Part 1 of this attack of epic dimensions. Crab and couscous for dinner. Watch some MSNBC. One more movie. MST3K - Invasion Of The Neptune Men.

Rhubarb always cracks me up.

Wait, Wait is in a warm place... recorded at Centennial Hall at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Some people call Calexico an Americana band, some call them Tex-Mex — some just settle on calling them awesome. Guitarist-vocalist Joey Burns, who lives in Tucson, answers questions about music from really cold places - Musician Joey Burns Plays Not My Job. The snow lets up while I take a short walk d'town. People are heading to the Saint Patrick's Day Parade. Midday movie - MST3K: Overdrawn At The Memory Bank starring the late Raúl Juliá. Actually, I enjoy watching the 80's style special affects, but I love how the MST3K gang mock the Novicorp Chairman.

Another zombie movie for me - MST3K: The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies!!? Mike: I hate for way they stereotype zombies in this movie. Crow and Servo sport new pompadours like the foreign guy from the movie, convincing Mike of the need to update his look too. A quick session with Shelli the Nanite gives him a really high pompadour, so high that Rocket Number 9 reveals it's a danger to communication satellites.

In and out of sleep while watching some Star Trek. Another Robert Ito show - Star Trek Voyager: Author, Author. The Doctor writes a holonovel, a roman à clef - Photons, Be Free - that portrays the Voyager crew in a less than flattering light. The heart of the story was the Doctor's struggle to be accepted as a legitimate writer and a regular person.Beans on toast for breakfast. Sunday matinee movie - MST3K: Hercules Against The Moon Men. This movie is (like the mad scientists promise) is DEEP HURTING!
The head Moon Man and his army of rock monsters are holding a princess with the intention of sacrificing her to revive their own queen. Hercules has to overcome the invaders, besides defeating minions of Queen Zamara.
I'm so glad that I won't go to work tomorrow. Watch movie - Role/Play. Weather in Palm Springs - Sunny at 82°. I wish that I could be there... and watch Star Trek all day in my room. Watch Voyager: Endgame.
