vrijdag 31 januari 2020

vrijdag 31 januari 2020 The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in Iowa? Thank goodness for Ask-O-Matic Technology! Midnight movie - 54. I always loved Ryan Phillippe in that Senior Wrestling t-shirt. Shane O'Shea: What it'll be?
Up for Democracy Now. Senior legal correspondent at Slate - Dahlia Lithwick - is astonished by Lamar Alexander's announcement. Alexander will vote against calling witnesses because Trump's actions, while "inappropriate," are not impeachable. It's almost impossible now to meet the standard where they've set the bar.
Britt and Lou posted their first Video of 2020. Lou seems to like photography. He has a good eye. I like his photo tour of Downtown Seattle and Pioneer Square. I miss Seattle.
Americans by a 2-1 margin, Americans say the impeachment trial is being conducted unfairly. I'm watching on CBS News.
Welcome to 1984... You're 36 years too late, but here we are. I knew it KNEW IT! that we would get to this place in America. My heart sinks. Representative Democracy depends on our representatives listening to their constituents. No one is listening! The Senators are actually deciding what we see and hear. And we hear nothing!

donderdag 30 januari 2020

donderdag 30 januari 2020 Stephen Colbert Hammers Alan Dershowitz’s ‘Logical Turd’ of a Trump Impeachment Defense. He brought a little bag of Utz Potato Chips, Sour Cream & Onion.
Watch MST3K: Project Moon Base. I thought that I had watched all of them. I have never seen Project Moon Base. Segment 4: The amazing all-purpose mystery substance SPACOM!
I want a Rick's Portal Gun! Don't you? It's a deus ex machina as Matt Brady puts it. I'd like a gun just for "local" travel. Shoot the gun, and whew! You're instantly transported to a beach in the Caribbean.
It's a blah day in Oberlin. Pay my electric bill - $27. Visit the library. Listen to the Impeachment Trial. I want Grace and Frankie! Adam: I'm your real sister, here, okay? In feelings.

woensdag 29 januari 2020

woensdag 29 januari 2020 It seems to be a Radio Day.
Turn on WCPT for Stephanie Miller. Listen to legal analyst Glenn Kirschner going over the reasons why Bolton should be called as a witness, and what’s next for the impeachment trial in the Senate. Switch to WOBC. They play The Electrician by The Walker Brothers. Love that distinctive baritone voice of Scott Walker. (RIP)
Then, it's KUOW for live coverage of the Senate Impeachment Hearing. The president lawyers are arguing that if the president ordered his election opponent arrested that would be fine because he’s pursuing the national interest in order to get re-elected.
HAPPENING NOW: Hundreds of protesters Swarm Capitol Hill to protest the GOP's impeachment cover-up.

The Siber Punk series on WOBC was interesting. Grazhdanskaya Oborona! ГО (often referred to as ГрОб, Russian for coffin). A journey through the Siberian punk scene that appeared in the twilight of the Soviet Union. WITH YOUR HOST Katya.

After watching the Rwanda teaser, I admit I ❤️ Geography Now! Paul unites the world with his 2.01 million subscribers. Amazing work!

zaterdag 25 januari 2020

zaterdag 25 januari 2020 Last night, I watched Marriage Story. It received six nominations at the 92nd Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Adam Driver), Best Actress (Scarlett Johansson), Best Supporting Actress (Laura Dern) and Best Original Screenplay. Good luck to you all on February 9, 2020.
I love the ethereal music on WOBC during my walk in Oberlin.
The show: Chameleon Radio - Experimental, Ambient, Pop, Pysch, etc. with host Chuck Ryals. Saturday 1PM-3PM
Thoughts? George Takei, on the new Space Force logo? George Takei: The 'Star Trek' vision was hopeful. Trump's is Mirror Image. I gotta watch Mirror, Mirror NOW!
It's supposed to snow tonight. I wonder... 'cause it's just rain. Anyway! Dinner and a movie - Noodles with garlic broccoli and Paul. YES!  Paul: I wouldn't do that if I were you.

vrijdag 24 januari 2020

vrijdag 24 januari 2020 Midnight movie - Attack The Block.
This is frightening news to hear in the morning. CBS News is reporting GOP Senators were warned by Trump’s Team: Vote against the President and your head will be on a pike. Responding to my Republican Senator Rob Portman.
On this rainy, rainy day... I watch Dinotopia.
David's training with the Pteranodons is very important to me. I'm invested in his success to become a Skybax Rider.

donderdag 23 januari 2020

donderdag 23 januari 2020 Watching John Mulaney on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was a lot of fun! What a great interview. So much to ponder. 🤔 He was a cute little latchkey kid.
It's a busy day on The Stephanie Miller Show. Karl Frisch - political strategist - discusses the politics of the impeachment trial. Matthew Miller - MSNBC Justice and Security Analyst - tells us how well the House impeachment managers did in the Impeachment trial in the Senate. They seem to be teaching the GOP the difference between RIGHT AND WRONG. It's a simple as ABC - 'Abuse, Betrayal, Corruption'
A short walk around the college. It's much warmer today than yesterday. I DO love the sound of our bell at Finney Chapel. It's nothing like Big Ben, but still... The Doomsday Clock is now set at 100 seconds to midnight.
You can ring my bell! Ring it, ring it, ring it ring it... Aah!

woensdag 22 januari 2020

woensdag 22 januari 2020 Midnight movie - Coneheads. Welcome to Earth: Wilderness Planet at the end of the Noctolium Solar Chain.
The Remulakians crack me up! Narful the Garthok!
Turn on Stephanie Miller. Malcolm Nance joins the gang to break down yesterday’s events in the Senate Chamber: They don't care what we think. Trump has allowed them to take their hoods off. They are allowed to be as loud-mouth, racist, sexist, misogynist, anti-gay as they want. I'm with Malcolm. His rage is righteous! Remember: 1. There will be no GOP rebellion! 2. Trump will be acquitted! 3. The good arguments of the Democrats won't matter! Fox will chop up everything into crazy sound bites. Only hope? The GOP loses in November.
Adam Schiff’s brilliant presentation is knocking down excuses to acquit. I'm watching this live and Rep. Schiff is calm and eloquent. When a man, unprincipled in private life, desperate in his fortune, bold in his temper, possessed of considerable talents... [but] despotic... may justly be suspected that his object is to [undermine the Government itself] -Hamilton, quoted by Schiff now.

dinsdag 21 januari 2020

dinsdag 21 januari 2020 On France 24: Trump attacks environmental 'prophets of doom' at Davos 2020... with climate activist Greta Thunberg in the audience. #MoronPresident
Ms. Thunberg, addressing another Davos audience, rebuked leaders for failing to fix a problem of their own making. She said they had ignored pleas for the world to act on climate change. And she flatly rejected Mr. Trump’s assertion that there was much to be optimistic about.
I'm watching Grace and Frankie... This makes miss Genghis Khan and Seattle. They had the most handsome delivery boys! 😋

maandag 20 januari 2020

maandag 20 januari 2020 Crisis on Infinite Earths. I watch 3 of the 5 episodes last night. Barry, Pariah, Killer Frost and Cisco think they have a plan to save the Multiverse from destruction.
Rise and shine, Davos, Switzerland! The ski resort of Davos is seen at sunrise ahead of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. Let's talk! Income inequality, upward mobility, the trust paradox, the climate crisis and sustainability. Allons-y!
I think I had a dream about riding a train from Geneva to someplace in Switzerland. (Geneva to Davos.) I remember spectacular views of lakes and mountains... and speaking in French.
I have never biked in this much snow. My ride to IGA was fine. Look what I picked up! Cascade Farm Premium Organic Cut Spinach! Thank you, Skagit Valley.

zondag 19 januari 2020

zondag 19 januari 2020 Godless: Homecoming is the 7th and final episode of the series. The preacher reads 'Tis Is Fearful Thing. ‘Tis a fearful thing to love what death can touch. A fearful thing to love, to hope, to dream, to be – to be, And oh, to lose. A thing for fools, this, And a holy thing, a holy thing to love. For your life has lived in me, your laugh once lifted me, your word was gift to me. To remember this brings painful joy. ‘Tis a human thing, love, a holy thing, to love what death has touched -Yehuda HaLevi. This was The Legend of Roy Goode. Thank you, Roy, and good luck.
Strange dreams... very Lord of the Rings-ish with wizards, Elves and hobbits. Turn on BBC World Service. The Documentary - Greenland: Why Music Matters. Photo: Houses in Maniitsoq, Greenland.
I takes me 20 minutes to walk down to Oberlin College. By the time I got to Mudd, my cheeks were tingling.
