Switch to SeaQuest DSV - The Devil's Window. While investigating a black smoker, Darwin becomes seriously ill. Bridger must contemplate setting his long-time aquatic pal free in order to save his life.
A #11 bus up to Trader Joe's to get a few things. Walk back to my place. Drop off stuff. Another #11 down to the quiet, friendly, and relaxed Madison Park neighborhood. There's good ol' Tully's Coffee. Love the beach.
I have time to meander around the place while the bus heads down to McGilvra. Back on board the #11. Arrive d'town. There's quite a crowd for King County Republican Convention. My stomach is churning.
Time to relax. Watch Star Trek Voyager: Dark Frontier. The crew salvages debris from the destroyed ship in hopes of finding useful technology. A transwarp coil in particular would be useful. Listen to me. Do NOT toy with the Borg, my friends.   
I hear a reference to the New World Economy... the economic system that took shape on Earth in the late 22nd century, around the time the Federation formed. As Tom Paris says: "money went the way of the dinosaur." Money continues to be used on many other alien worlds. So, I watch Paul again.

Much has been made about President Obama‘s supposed “coolness.” Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson was horrified by Obama’s performance, calling it “nutso” and thus definitely NOT cool. Steph and the gang compare and contrast the coolness of presidents and candidates past and present.
I like how he looks in Ray Bans. Egg salad and rice for breakfast. Bath. Watch movie - Flash Gordon: The Peril From Planet Mongo.
Walk up Westlake to work. It's a day with the Starfish and Seahorses. The Seahorses get ready for a walk. Student Olivia is extra to SF/SH, so I set up the lunches and put out the mats. Ann and Toni are both out today. Elena and Kenn sub. Elena joins the Seahorses for lunch time. The kids really listen to the stories she makes up. Trains which go under water, a mouse, a monster and Vanilla Bean yogurt. The kids like taking their books to their nap mats. Kenn manages to get our non-napper to sleep. The last lunch break is for Olivia. The 7 Starfish are sleeping. They wake up near 3:00. Walk down 8th to my place. A delivery from Amazon! It's my DVD! Turn on KOMO News. This is almost a scandal in Seattle. Report - Boeing Rolls Out First 787 Made In S. Carolina. No union/non-union bashing in the comment section... so far. Need a walk. Short walk up to Madison. Hi McDonald's. I'm sure that there are drug deals in their parking lot. Watch Power Rangers - Operation Overdrive: The Underwater World. Spaghetti with Bengali cabbage for dinner. Movie - The Mysterians. After a Japanese town is totally destroyed, the military arrive to investigate. They encounter a giant robot that is decimating everything in its path. A dome appears out of the ground and a group of scientists are invited to meet the alien Mysterians from the planet Mysteroid. The Mysterians have come in peace; all they ask humanity for is three-square kilometers of land and the right to interbreed with Earth women to repopulate their species. Outraged at such a suggestion, humanity declares war on the Mysterians.

Charmaine gets out the shakers and bells. We do music. They go to the Bike Room. I forgot how clumsy this age group is. 11 - An hour with the Ducklings. Two are sleeping. Two are playing. Just some free play. 12 - To Seahorses for lunchtime and naps. This group is on the spunky side. 2 - Starfish. This group decides to sleep late. Streetcar to d'town. Drop by Sneaker City. Buy a new pair of Chucks. Color: Grapevine. Dump stuff off at home. Try on the new sneaks. Perfect.
Walk up First Hill and down to Kaladi. I can't believe that I tell Jeremiah, "I used to be a barista." How banal! Back to my place. Listen to podcast of The World. More about the story of Preacher, President, War Criminal - Charles Taylor. The story about the economic policy of austerity makes me leery. The UK has now officially slipped back into recession, with economic growth shrinking by 0.2 percent. DOUBLE DIP! This story reminds me of an Op-Ed by Paul Krugman - Europe's Economic Suicide. Pasta prima vera for dinner. Watch movie - Goldmember. Just a small reference to Remember Sunshine. Wow!

woensdag 25 april 2012 Restless night's sleep. It's too warm in the apartment. Watch DW-TV: Tomorrow Today and the news. The weather... It's a trade most of us are willing to make. Mother Nature doesn't really ask us, but here are the trade details: Deal with a few soggy days during the week and you'll get mild and mainly dry weather for the weekend.
Hummus on toast for breakfast. Bath. Watch MST3K - Deathstalker And The Warriors From Hell. Walk up Westlake to work. Visit the Infant Room for a little while. Over to Seahorse and Starfish. We get a little rain on us while we play outside. One of the kids comes up to me and asks, "Can I help you with lunches?" Doh! I almost forgot about lunch prep. The Starfish have a Parent Picnic. It's rather noisy, but we manage. Over to Dolphins for nap time. They all go to sleep easily. Back to Starfish. Most of the kids sleep a while. They're tired. I leave at snack time. Streetcar to Denny. Luckily, it's only cloudy. I buy a ton of stuff at Whole Foods. My cute clerk is Brad. Streetcar to d'town. Drop off stuff. Watch Power Rangers - Lost Galaxy: Quasar Quest. The Lost Galaxy is said to be the "most mysterious place in the universe" as people never go in but never return from it.

Spock attempts a Vulcan mind meld but cannot complete it as the creature is in agony from its wound. However, he does learn that it calls itself a Horta. The Horta also gains enough knowledge from the experience to be able to etch the words "NO KILL I" into a nearby rock. However, Kirk and Spock aren't sure if that means, "Please don't kill me," or "I won't kill you." Train down to Rainier Valley. Pick up some teriyaki chicken. Up at 12:34. Decide to do a load of laundry since I'm awake at a silly hour. After the laundry, I turn on DW-TV. Some two million Turkish people live in Germany. Here's a look at one family and how three generations feel about each other.

Manage to fall back to sleep. Up with the sun. Leftovers for breakfast. A little bit of everything. Bath. Listen to Wait, Wait. Long walk around Capitol Hill. Shop at Trader Joe's. There seem to be a lot of runners out. Drop off stuff at my place. Watch a little France 24. Saturday marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Seattle World's Fair. For many people the highlight of the extravaganza wasn't the Space Needle or the Monorail, but the Bubbleator. Walk up Westlake to work. It's lightly raining on me. I'm with the Seahorses and Starfish today. It's the usual. Play, lunch, potty, naps. I am - as most teachers - glad it's Friday. We're tired. The day goes fast. Streetcar to d'town. Drop off stuff at my place. Change clothes. A little sunshine mixed with the grey clouds. Short walk up Pike and back down University. Curious about the Marlborough. Designed in the Gothic Revival tradition, the elaborate terra cotta and golden brick facade...

But it quiet in the Seahorses' classroom. They're going down for naps. It's nice and quiet. Visit the Infant Room. They're busy in there. Some of them are grumpy. Turn on The World. Today, Israelis mark Holocaust Remembrance Day to commemorate the six million Jewish victims of World War II. Los Angeles has been overrun by huge, hulking, slime-covered subterraneans called Slime People, who appeared out of the sewers and other underground water concentrations.
However, I can't make it through to the end. Zzzz.

This cat fight cracks me up.

Walk up Westlake to work. Give Kyle a break and hang out a while with the Sea Turtles. Over to Starfish. The classroom is a mess. The kids are just barefoot and running around. Eventually, I settle down with a couple of them to read books on the couch. Joanna is extra, which helps. Over to Seahorses for lunch time. The 5 kids fall fast asleep. Up to Rainforest Kids for Sarah's break. Quiet time for these 13 kids. All but one of them sleep. Back down to Starfish. One is awake already and playing in the Infant Room. I send a couple more down there when the wake up. Alone with the nappers. I wish my comrades luck good with the licensors when I leave. Turn on The World. The "ceasefire" in Syria is a farce. Syrian security forces are crazy. I can hear shooting in the background while they interview a man in Damascus. Watch Space 1999: Brian The Brain. The voice of that computer - Brian - is REEEEEAAAAALLLLYYYY annoying. Or is it his personality? BOTH! I guess that it's a space day. I turn on Weekday on KUOW. Researcher and scientist Chris Lintott talks about sorting through the galaxies with Citizen Scientists - Galaxy Zoo. I like Hanny's Voorwerp galaxy.
Feeling a little spacey myself, I walk up Westlake to work. Cover some short breaks. The 5 Seahorses get ready for a walk. Over to Dolphins for Charmaine's lunch. Patty tries to have Circle Time with the 8 kids, but they can't focus. Interesting dynamics with this group. Early lunch. Switch to the Sea Otters for Leisha and Kenn's lunch breaks. Why do kids poop after lunchtime? Go to sleep now, you Sea Otters. Over to Seahorses for Toni's break. They're all asleep. Peace and quiet. When I leave work, I turn on The World. Right-wing extremist Anders Breivik said at his trial on Tuesday that Norway’s capital, Oslo, is a “multicultural hell”.

I hang out with the Dolphins and read some books with them. I set up lunches while the kids go to the Bike Room. 12 - Leisha's lunch. The 8 Sea Otters are eating lunch. Gloria is subbing for Pam. A lot of the kids put themselves to sleep. Head over to Turtles just to hang out. 2 - Gloria's lunch. It's a magical nap time with the Sea Otters. Turn on The World. Sadness revisited. Survivors of last July’s massacre were at the opening of Anders Breivik’s trial.

Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen apologized on Thursday for her comment about Ann Romney after the controversy went viral and drew criticism on Twitter. Rosen generated criticism Wednesday night for her statement that Romney has “actually never worked a day in her life.” Someone who used to take care of Ann Romney call in to talk about her privileged life. It take a while, but everyone sleeps. I hear some coughing. We're fighting colds. Streetcar to d'town. A couple blond boys are cracking me up... pretending they're from Schwietland. Home. I change a few diapers. Within a half hour, the kids are going down for naps. Most don't need any help... but some do. After my break, I head out to the Infant Playground to hang out with the Ducklings. Why do they need to eat sand? Back with the Sea Otters for Pam's break. One is awake already. The rest sleep soundly. Streetcar to Whole Foods. Pick up a few things. Drop off stuff. Take a walk down to the Harbor Steps. Hello, Hammering Man.

Drop off stuff at my place. Walk up Capitol Hill to Trader Joe's to get some of my favorite things. I take quiet and residential East Olive. Catch a #11 bus back to d'town. Turn on KIRO for the news.
