It's a rather crazy day at work. The Infant Roomin. s put on hold while we deal with a Fire Drill. It goes well. Sleeping babies keep sleeping. Not one of them cries. I spend most of the day with the Dolphins. The kids go down early for naps. It's unreal. They're all asleep by 12:05. Too much partying? Sam wakes up. He's such a joyful little boy. He has his own little circle time. That makes my day! On my walk home, I notice that some people have already started to celebrate. Strangeness in Seattle. Feel safer at home. Thank you, Google for the Doodle. I sit down with a screwdriver and enjoy Doctor Who - The Christmas Invasion. My favorite scene - The Killer Christmas Tree. Timelash...is the fifth serial of the 22nd season in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, In honor of you. You're going to haave the biggest party. Tonight.

maandag 30 december 2013 Midnight movie - Mystery Science Theater 3000: Gamera vs. Guiron. Gamera comes to the rescue of two young boys abducted by alien women with a taste for growing brains. As if that doesn't keep the heroic turtle busy enough, there's Guiron (part monster, part cutlery) to contend with.
Gamera is really neat, Gamera is filled with meat, We've been eating Gamera!! These guys really crack me up! Watch a little RT News. Volgograd must feel traumatized. Walk up Westlake to work. It rains on me a little. Easy-going day. I'm extra for the Sea Otters. I set up their lunches. A quiet two hours with the Dolphins. The Sea Otters wake up early. Joyce reads to them while I change the diapers. Streetcar to Denny. #8 bus up to B'way. Walk around. Shop a little. #60 bus to Madison. I'm getting chilly. Warm up to KOMO News. January can be rather dreary, but Seattle is excited. Report - Seahawks post-season means payday for local economy. Of course, I need to watch again - The Time Of The Doctor. Everybody’s naked underneath.

Mushroom omelet and potatoes for breakfast. Friday morning movie - MST3K: Attack Of The Eye Creatures. The movie-makers just didn't care. How about The Attack Of The Geoducks. Walk up Westlake to work. Low numbers. Easy-going day. I go back and forth between the Dolphins and Sea Otters. It gets chilly outside. I'm relieved to bring the kids inside to warm up. We read books. I set up lunches and eat with the kids. The Sea Otters finish lunch and go down for naps. Glad to leave after nap time. Walk down to Denny... 9th Avenue to my place. Watch KOMO News. This is a great story including Seahawk fever - 2 Seahawks fans commit 12 random acts of kindness for tickets to big game. And they did it!
Dig out some old Lost In Space. While spacewalking Doctor Robinson is pulled down onto a planet. Major West lands the ship to search for him - Island In The Sky. Then... Due to the planet's orbit, the Robinsons are going to freeze to death unless they head south - There Were Giants In The Earth. Ah, yes. Those were the days.
Rice and beans for dinner. Then we'll begin again with... a relatively old. Doctor Who - The Idiot's Lantern.

Look for the three-story brick building - Fire-ravaged historic Seattle building could soon collapse. Lots of history in that building. Gekkeikan sake is on sale for The Japanese New Year (お正月, oshōgatsu)! Get some cold chicken noodle salad.
#71 bus tunnel back to my place. What a slow bus. It's been a while, but I watch the Keiser Report on RT. Max and Stacy discuss the suggestion that the NSA may be manipulating bank account balances and financial markets. Markets! Finance! Scandal! Episode 541.

French Country Vegetable soup for breakfast. A Christmas Eve Spacewalk. I hear that they're successful.
Walk over to Tower 801 Caffe Ladro. Sit and listen to KOMO News while sipping my coffee. I'm not used to this strong stuff. Last-minute shopping, people! Whole Foods looks busy, but the rest of Westlake is dark. Except for retail and shoppers, no one is working. Work is quiet. Low numbers. Lots of teachers get to go home early. Actually, I work with the Starfish and Seahorses. Easy-going kids. I get to leave early, too. Streetcar to d'town. #106 bus tunnel to Uwajimaya. It's REALLY busy, but the clerks are ready for the business. I leave the store... There's a huge fire on King & 7th. Watch it on the news.
Tis the season for some fires. Even my neighbor burns somethings while cooking. Lots of smoke. The alarm never goes off, surprisingly. It's time to settle down. Watch a not-a-very festive MST3K - Time Of The Apes. "Monkeys! I hate them!" "You need to wash your hands!"

Monday morning movie - Ruben's Place. Walk up Westlake to work. The rain is gone. The Dolphins and Sea Otters share the playground. Patty gets an 11 o'clock lunch. I love the low numbers. Five kids in each group. Nice to eat my lunch with the kids. They sleep a long time, too. Turn on NPR for my walk up to Denny. Interesting report - How Tiny Qatar "Punches Above Its Weight"

vrijdag 20 december 2013 Up at 4:18. Work calls me about the snow alert. KOMO News is on already, covering the snow storm. Let it snow! Report - Snow accumulates in Seattle for first time in nearly 2 years. Stewed tomatoes, herbed potatoes and a hard boiled egg for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. I'm treated to a fun and energetic hour with Carlos Alazraqui for Coffee With Carlos. I was going to make espresso. It's slippery at the back of the building. The sidewalks are fairly clear. Some are slushy. On the last 5 minutes of my walk to work, I get pelted with sleet. Schedules - a little crazy. Some of us made it to work. A visit the Infant Room again. Nice to hold babies. Cuddle them. Make them giggle. The Sea Otters frolic in the Bike Room. The kids are arriving late. Their schedules are off. One child shows me his little snowman.
Cute. And it's Pajama Day. I love the kid in the Pirate Pajamas. And... OMG! Teacher Allen is wearing his Batman Pajamas. COOL! The Seahorses are going down for naps. Rather easy. The Sea Otters are not very easy. Oh, well. I give up. Nice to leave at 3. Streetcar to d'town. Home. Watch some KOMO News. Eastside Catholic is still rallying for their Vice Principal... even on this wintry day. It's a SNOW DAY! You are amazing, young men and women. Report - High school students protest resignation of gay vice principal. This drama is going to keep on going, I think. It's obvious that the kids love their Vice Principal. I hear them. KEEP MR. Z.
I love Genghis Khan! I'm craving spicy Kung Pao chicken and Szechwan eggplant. Watch Doctor Who - Attack Of The Cybermen. I need to say that the Doctor stands out from the Cybermen. But what about the Cryos?

We're rather short-staffed at work. Still, Joyce gets her planning time. The Sea Otters don't stay long outside. We head inside and read lots of books. Ten Little Caterpillars is a favorite. The lunch mess is 20% less messy today with only 6 kids. Over to the Infant Room. It's amazes me how babies will instantly bond with you... like Benji. He wants my constant attention. The Sea Otters wake up. "Books?" Streetcar to Denny. Shop at Whole Foods. Get some Penne pasta salad and juice. Home. Turn on KOMO News. Wow, kids. You amaze me. Report - High school students protest resignation of gay vice principal.
I have Whole Foods for dinner. Fish and chips. Food, glorious, food!

Hard to get out of bed. Just lay there listening to a very raucous Stephanie Miller Show with 3 hours of John Fugelsang. "Do you want politics, religion or filth?" Laughing out loud! And Nights With White Santas... Love it! Burrito for breakfast. Walk up Westlake to work. Planning time for the Dolphin teachers. It rains on us a little bit. Inside for circle time. I'm not used to doing it, and my throat is sore. Over to Sea Otters. Joyce is out sick today, and Allen is subbing. The kids get feisty at nap time. We need extra help. One of the kids is laughing in his sleep. That's unusual. Walk up to Whole Foods. Buy a bottle of Wódka - Polish vodka made out of rye.

With the lights out, it's less dangerous. Here we are now, entertain us. I feel stupid and contagious. Here we are now, entertain us.
Walk up Westlake to work. It's one thing or another. Parent-teacher conferences continue. Take the Sea Otters outside. Such a big group. 8 kids. I'm a little unhappy that a toddler group can be this large. Inside - books, diapers, lunches and naps. I'm extra for a little bit. Naps for the Wildflowers. (Surprise) Naps (sort of) for the Sea Otters. Streetcar to Denny. Pick up some Zinger juice, General Tsao chicken and salad bar at Whole Foods. What's with the stupid traffic? Helicopters in the air. For me... No worries. No traffic jams on the sidewalks SEATTLE! It's a left-wing, utopian conspiracy to walk to and from work, eh?
Chicken salad sandwich for dinner. Watch movie - Shelter. Incredible to think... Back then, I saw the director of this movie in the Cinerama. Pointed questions about this and that.

Walk up Westlake to work. Mellow day. Well... I get nervous when I'm with the Wildflowers. It's just for 15 minutes. Lunch prep for the Starfish. Over to Sea Otters. Easy-going lunchtime. Anne sets out the nap mats. The kids conk out fast. At 2:30, everyone seems to wake up at the same time. Walk home. Watch Doctor Who - The Twin Dilemma. Colin Baker plays the new Doctor.  He behaves strangely and erratically after his transformation.  Peri is fairly scared of him.
And juvenile twin geniuses from Earth - Romulus and Remus Sylvest - are kidnapped for their mathematical equations.
