I'm just watching politics tonight. I'm reading comments on the blogs. "Boehner is *exactly* the kind of leader who would blunder into a calamity like a debt default" Blunderer Boehner.
Sorry to put you down like that, John Boehner. But you really have a list of unforgivable lapses while as speaker of the House. Hmm. Rachel Maddow has a list.

But I turn on Stephanie Miller. Love Rocky Mountain Mike. Scrambled eggs and potatoes for breakfast. Up to 7-Eleven for Brazilian dark roast coffee. It's a coincidence, I think. Some guys are practicing Capoeira in Freeway Park. Then it's rains pretty hard.
I was hoping to visit Lenin's statue in Fremont, but I need to dry out. Instead... I want to finish what I saw in-flight - Star Trek 3x03. Watch KING-5 News. Is Microsoft's Surface a tablet or a laptop? We wonder.
Watch How The Universe Works - Planets From Hell. Black bean noodle soup for dinner. Jet lag conks me out.

zondag 22 september 2013 Up at 6:45. This is the day I fly back to Seattle. Do a some load of laundry. Watch a South Park marathon on Comedy Central starting with Fun With Veal.
Everyone seems to be sleeping in this morning. Me? I'm experiencing some pre-flight jitters. Beans for breakfast. Take a walk around Wellington. Saint Patrick's is busy. I look at the wooden statue.
At the lunch table, we sit and watch the Cleveland Browns vs. the Minnesota Vikings. Interesting game. We chat... mostly about our worse airplane horror stories. Both Ron and Dan take me to the airport. We talk a lot about Jon... and family stuff as well. I'm hoping to hear the end of the football game... BUT NO! Anyway. TSA - smooth as silk. Check-in - no problemo. Boarding - like butter. Take-off - on time! I'm on my way to Atlanta. Access to wi-fi. Browns stun Vikings as third-string QB Brian Hoyer leads way. Nice flight. Thank you, Delta flight 1088. It's rush hour at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Delta seems very efficient about getting one flight off and getting us on. We're on-time. An attendant says "Good job boarding." Hey, yo! Take-off. In-flight movie - The Great Gatsby directed by Baz Luhrmann. I hear that Baz used his old High School as Gatsby's mansion.
Well done, Delta flight 2329. It arrives 15 minutes early. Phone Michael. "I'm here already." I get a ride home.

zaterdag 21 september 2013 I have the windows open. The crickets sing me to sleep, but the rain wakes me up. The others are sleeping in. So, this is my chance to watch Up With Steve Kornacki. More news - France24, WEWS Cleveland and KOMO News of course.
My nephew - Jesse - and I watch Adventure Time. And Ohio State vs Florida A&M plays in the other rooms. The Buckeyes are off to a great start. OSU rolls over the Rattlers.
Final score: 76-0. Getting ready for a wedding. Shower. Press pants and shirt. Nephew Jon ties me up.
We drive miles and miles... through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park to the Silver Lake Golf Club. We are the first people there. We find some cushy seats in the lobby.
I wander outside around the country club. Nice day for a wedding.
Hay! Millers!
The bride and groom with family. Ah, ha. Ashton spots me.
The ceremony is officiated by my niece Kate. So beautiful. Drinks. dancing. Lots of talking and hugging. Home again.

vrijdag 20 september 2013 Nice night's sleep for me. Up with the sunrise. Aaah! A nice mellow start to the day. Breakfast, showers and the Cartoon Network. My nephews are chill.
Most of us are at the kitchen table catching up and telling stories. Breakfast seems to mutate into lunch. I notice that we're focusing on the news... especially weather reports about approaching storms. My nephews turn me onto The Amazing World Of Gumball. Drive over to Akron for wedding rehearsal dinner at Bricco. The youngest nephew, Ashton.
After saying 'Hi' to grammy, he takes a big slurp of pineapple juice.

My nephew - the groom - and a very tired guest.
The Bricco is a great, busy, fun place.  The incredible Bricco menu. Pan seared SCALLOPS and grilled SHRIMP with apple, pancetta and scallion risotto, white wine butter for me. 44.7 mi, 1 hour 8 mins I-77 N and OH-18 W each way. Perhaps it's worth the big carbon impact our families make.

donderdag 19 september 2013 Three time zones later. It's already the next day... in Detroit. Connect with flight to CAK. I am so sleep deprived. But I'm sitting in the aisle row, and I get bumped and jostled by passengers and attendants. I get a minute's sleep here and there. Happily my flights are on time. Hello CAK!
I get my ride to mom and dad's. The house is busy with visitors. My nephews are so big and magnificent. We're all playing with our electronic toys - my Chromebook, iTouch, several iPads and the TV is on. I watch Courage The Cowardly Dog with Jesse.  He's quick with the Rubic's Cube.  Whoa! We order some pizza... a lot of pizza!
I'm exhausted, but I'm having so much fun with these guys.
Finally, I'm by myself. Watch MST3K - Catalina Caper.

I like the culture report with Daniil Simkin. The Russian whiz kid is in Paris to perform at the Champs Elysée theatre for the 16th Stars of the 21st Century annual International Ballet Gala. Report - Simkin and The City. Fried egg and rice for breakfast.  Thank you, France 24. Thank you, Daniil Simkin. What a wonderful way to start the day. Watch BBC documentary - Saturns Moon Titan - A Place Like Home. It's the amazing adventure of the Cassini-Huygens spacecraft. Walking through Freeway Park, I notice an attendant pulling out all these beautiful plants. Out with the old... (I guess).
Walk up to Denny. #62 bus to Mercer. Hang out with the Dolphins as their teachers take some planning. We share the playground with the Sea Otters. We play with hula hoops and bubbles. The kids get excited when we transfer to the Infant Playground. They love the Playskool bus and the short slide. It rains on us for a minute. The lunches are set up already. Nice transition from outside to the classroom. Nice leisurely lunch. Naps are a struggle, though. Over to Sea Otters. It's quiet time for them and me. Streetcar to d'town. Just a little snack. I'm going back to work for a pot luck. No one tries my carrot raisin salad. I'm such a loser. Soy un perdedor.
We meet for several trainings. Geez. It's warm in the training room. Technical difficulties slow things down. Glad to go home. So, I watch Rachel Maddow. She gives us the nitty-gritty on suspected gunman Aaron Alexis. I need a shower.

I feel bad about that technician trapped in that room with Gort. Whitefish omelet and potatoes for breakfast. Walk up to 7-Eleven for some coffee. Lots of people line up at the Urban Rest Stop. Back to my place. Watch more Haven.
In the episode - Harmony - a psychiatric hospital turns inside out when the patients escape and the doctors lose their minds. Nate gets crazy with Duke until Audrey tases him. "And I was having a nice day!"
A little walk around downtown. I miss the rain. Lots of Seahawk fans. Some with those dark blue and lime green jerseys. Some in make-up. The game is at 5:30. Back to my place. Watch Wilfred - Identity. The finale for Season 1. Ryan ignores Wilfred's advice, creating an existential crisis for both of them. Sad, sad Ryan.
Then Wilfred - Progress. Ryan realizes the consequences of not having Wilfred in his life but finds it difficult to separate his dreams from his reality. Ryan! Wake up! I whip up batch of carrot raisin salad.
Oh! Thunder! Lightning! Watch MST3K - Outlaw Of Gor... with the huggable Jack Palance. Tarl Cabot is whisked away to a magical, planet of swords and sorcery - Gor. When time-travelling, always use your seat belts. Cabot... confident, dry and secure.

Then it's Rick Steves' program - Tastes of Italy, Paris, and Basque Country. Open up your taste buds, boys and girls! Look at Paris By Mouth. Everything looks good. In Basque country, Txakoli to sip with marmitako. Wow! Haven is on Netflix. Don't forget to give Duke a hug.

Streetcar to d'town. Straight to the apartment. Watch KOMO News. Seattle is hyper about the Seahawks-49er game on Sunday. The plan is for Seattle's raucous fans to set a Guinness World Record for stadium noise.
The guy on the right is going to set up that decibel reader at the end zone. Shout. Scream. Raise the roof. Switch to Politics Nation. Bill de Blasio ready for attacks from the right.
