Richard's surprise birthday party hits a snag when Kahlan and Cara are kidnapped during a magician's performance. The magician threatens to kill them unless Richard kills five men in the town, but we all know that it goes against Richard's heroic nature to be blackmailed into murdering people.

Just lay in bed for a while. Spicy rice and fried egg for breakfast. Watch Morning Joe. Mika refers to an Op-ed by Charles Krauthammer - Washington's Marching Morons Launch Full Retreat. I love it... The GOP’s performance nicely reprises that scene in “Animal House” where the marching band turns into a blind alley and row after row of plumed morons plows into a brick wall, crumbling to the ground in an unceremonious heap. That's a great visual.
In honor of Charles Krauthammer, I'll watch Animal House. This is one of those movies that works for all the wrong reasons--disgusting, lowbrow, base humor that we are all far too sophisticated to find amusing. There goes the parade...

Turn on KUOW to listen to A Prairie Home Companion. This week's show comes from the back of Santa's sleigh, a mixed bag of Christmas treats from the vast radio archives. Then DW-TV for EUROMAXX. I guess that it's my need for a new, comfortable chair that I take notice of the Benjamin Hubert Protect.

Walk up to Cal Anderson Park. The city is very quiet except for a few people walking or driving. There a father and his little girl flying a remote-controlled Helicopter. But that's all.
I like how the blue skies mix with some white clouds and dark clouds.
Take University down to my place. Watch Legend Of The Seeker - Perdition. Richard is trapped in the Valley of Perdition, and he is forced to experience his worst nightmares come to life - a version of what might have been for Richard and his friends if things had gone terribly wrong.
Mapo tofu for dinner. Tofu cooked with chopped green and yellow onions with Sichuan pepper seasoning. Yummy Chinese food for Christmas.

Nice that they let me go. Streetcar is full of Holiday tourists... including some from the Hutch Center. Schlepp myself home. Check MSNBC - Payroll Tax Cut OK'd By Congress, Signed By Obama.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

That's news which is a relief to me. Watch some DW-TV. They do an exposé on German photographer Robert Lebeck. Michael calls me at 3:08. He's in the neighborhood. We ride down to 3629 to watch PoliticsNation with Reverend Al Sharpton. Al presents The Revvie Awards. This is fun.
