dinsdag 25 april 2017

dinsdag 25 april 2017 Up with Bill Press. Trump managed to capture a majority of white women voters, an upsetting demographic loss to Hillary Clinton. Bill discusses with Emma Roller (I like your Twitter) of Fusion and Emily Crockett. Yesterday was a wonderful warm Spring day. Today and days forward... It seems to get back to gloomy again. Future forecast.
End of the day movie - MST3K: The Magic Voyage of Sinbad. The Bots, especially Gypsy, are amazed by Joel's channel cat puppet. But Crow and Tom have an existential crisis.

Voter turnout is high amid tight security. Polling stations are protected by armed police and soldiers.
Let's switch to basketball. It's so exciting that I can't sit down. OOOOOWWWWW!
LeBron James makes a 3-pointer towards the end. Cavaliers sweep Pacers in first round of playoffs with a final score of 106-102.

Space news! A picture of Earth between Saturn's rings. An image from NASA’s Cassini probe. In honor of Earth Day, Bill Maher says Shut up about Mars! New Rule: Make Earth Great Again!
Bellingham seems to have a lot of science nerds. People are converging downtown. Scientists worried about Trump policies, so they organized to march. They're coming down from Western Washington U, Peace Health Hospital... and so many kids from schools. I'm confused by one placard - Don't be like Krypton.
Krypton is a chemical element with the symbol Kr and the atomic number 36.  It's inert. I think that I get it. Lacking the ability or strength to move. "She lay inert in her bed" Synonyms: unmoving, motionless, immobile, inanimate, still, stationary, static. The plea is to connect, to get involved, to participate. Nice! A double entendre, perhaps. It could also mean - Don't Blow Up The Planet!

C'est La Grande Roue. Benoît Hamon could fail to clear even single digit support in Sunday’s vote. What is it about Benoît? Those piercing blue eyes? The dizzying rise and fall of French Socialist presidential hopeful Benoît Hamon. It's a beautiful sunny day. And so warm! 64.4 ° Fun degrees! Fun for the kids on the playground. I have fun on my bike sprinting around town... checking out the Old Village Trail again.
Catching up with Bill Press. Whoa! A special show. Legal in DC and WA.

donderdag 20 april 2017

donderdag 20 april 2017 Up with Bill Press. Science is political! Talking about the March for Science DC with one of the co-founders.
On Stephanie Miller, they talk a lot about Trump's damaged brain. Possible problems with his brain's front lobe. Wash-Po: After a brain injury, I suddenly displayed some behavior similar to Donald Trump’s. We’ve all heard President Trump’s overuse of filler words such as, “like,” “very,” and “um,” which suggests evidence of a growing dissonance. David Pakman - Trump has cognitive decline.
Are you saying that I put an abnormal brain into a seven and a half-foot lonnnngggg...FIFTY-FOUR INCH-WIDE...(begins strangling Igor) GORILLA?!?! IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE TELLING ME?!? KING 5 exposé - Who Was Ed Murray In The 80's? I definitely wasn't a perfect angel. Who were you in the 80's?

I'm still interested in the French elections. They're all revved up! Mélenchon galvanises the left in French election... with his holograms. (Oops. I almost said Homograms.) dinsdag 18 april 2017

dinsdag 18 april 2017 Midnight movie - Rogue One. The Battle of Scarif feels like the invasion of Normandy. Devastation and slaughter.
Is Trump at Mar-a-Lago? Hypocrisy! This site tracks how much Trump's Mar-A-Lago trips are costing us. Millions of government dollars spent at Mar-a-Lago while cuts to vital programs such as Meals on Wheels are threatened. Trending in the Twitterverse - Donald Trump Jr. Takes Jab At Media With ‘Very Fake News’ Shirt. How cheesy!
Yay for Rocky Mountain Mike! - "Time Of The Sleazin'" Remembered as one of the most destructive and deadliest natural disasters in the history of the United States, on this day 111 years ago... 1906 San Francisco earthquake.
Did you do your taxes? In honor of Tax Day, here is Amy Goodman talking about Donald Trump's excuses for not releasing his tax returns. On KEXP, this song catches my ear. Skating Polly. I love their rockin' guitars! But... How is it louder in Outer Space? Nice rhyme.

Lots of little dogs are barking at me when I chain up my bike. In Lafeen's for a donut break. It's quiet. Everyone's at church for Easter.
Get a lotto ticket next door. Back up and over Alabama Hill. View of Bham. In the distance - Bellingham Towers. The Towers (singular) is the city’s tallest commercial building at 15 stories and is the last and largest structure from the pre-depression building boom in downtown Bellingham. And the town has been in a depression ever since.
I should follow the bird down to Bellingham Bay, but I want to watch the Trail Blazers - Warriors game.

zaterdag 15 april 2017

zaterdag 15 april 2017 On France 24. France in Focus - Employment: new paths back to work. A survey says 82% of the French like their jobs. Doubt that we can say the same in the USA.
LeBron, Cavs escape with 109 - 108 win over Pacers. OMG! What a squeaker! The Cavs were up by 12 points. The Pacers go in.

Beautiful view from the 4th floor. Trip on the #4 bus up to Bellingham's Pill Hill. Take an early lunch at the Cordata Co-op. To WinCo to pick up some things - spaghetti, baked beans and 12-grain bread. It's warming up, so I shed my jacket. Hop on my bike. The wind is stiff from the south. Visit Fairhaven. The bay emits a shade of sea green.
At last! Life somewhere... Saturn moon 'able to support life'

The weather is a little dicy for the 2017 home opener for the Mariners. It's a party at the home plate. The reporters at KING 5 are out in the streets. They ask the kids, "How do the Mariners win?" "They gotta hit the ball!" Toasted grasshoppers debut on the new Mariners menu.

vrijdag 7 april 2017

vrijdag 7 april 2017 US fires more than 50 Tomahawks against Syria.
Trump attacked Syria for "the children," but he still won't let them into the U.S. Unless Trump reverses his total opposition to allowing refugees into the country, his supposed concern for those Syrians simply does not hold up. President Hypocrite! I need Pure Comedy after the news. KEXP plays Father John Misty’s New Album. Incredible! My favorite song - Things It Would Have Been Helpful to Know Before the Revolution. I'm soaking this all up during my walks on the Greenways of Bellingham.
What should I drink for National Beer Day. Hmmmm beer. Beer across the country is a $253 billion contributor to the U.S. economy. I believe in the power of beer! And I can't trust a president who can't drink a beer! I am drinking a Stone Delicious IPA.
