woensdag 28 januari 2015 At 1:58 AM, Michael knocks on my door. My wake-up. The guys are almost ready to leave for California. Head downstairs. Gregg is watching a movie - Ruthless People. Towards the end, they chase each other to the Santa Monica Pier in that beat up car. All that money in the water... Fun!
Wow. It seems that the guys cleaned up the house while I was asleep. The cats and I say good-bye. Off they go! A 13-hour drive down to Sacramento. I hope that they'll beat rush-hour in Portland. Wash a load of laundry. Snow storm news on CNN - Snow storm buries eastern Massachusetts, but the sun returns. 5:19 - My friends should be in Olympia, WA or beyond. Chicken stew on toast for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Where are my friends? Portland? 7 - 7:30?
Sorry, Steph. Too tired to stay awake for the whole show. Clink! My glasses fall on the floor, and I can't find them. Frustration! There's Thom Hartmann going on about The Oligarchy. Research the WTA to explore Bellingham with public transportation. I'm afraid about getting lost, and my adrenaline is pumping. Still, I catch #540 on Sweetbay and head downtown. My goal - Haggen's at Sehome Village. It's easy. I can't believe how much the students of Western Washington University dominate the system. I'm a 58-year-old on this bus.  I actually feel young seeing all these kids around me.  Pass through the Viking Union on my way back. I should have worn shorts... like all the kids. At the transit center, I need help. The drivers and staff try to find my ride to Sweetbay Drive. Heading back confuses me. As we head down Lakeway Drive on the #540, I recognize my stop. I take the foot-path through the woods. Voila! I'm home... and the cats want food. AMC is showing X-Men. 2000? Forteen years ago? Hugh Jackman still has what it takes.

We head out to Fred Meyer to pick up some things. Whew! This store is huge! Settle down to watch some episodes of The Flash. Wentworth Miller is so cool in Revenge Of The Rogues... while sipping Krystøv vodka.

They mercilessly mock Sarah Palin's speech - DNC Response To Sarah Palin's Campaign Speech In Iowa. Clean up the kitchen. Walk down to 4th Avenue. Bump into Joe T. I haven't seen him for years. Ten years. We hug and catch up a little. Back to my place. Watch the news in Providence, R. I. They're supposed to get the Jackpot for snow. 'Going To Pack A Punch': Historic Storm Unleashes On NE. Michael sends me a ticket for Bolt Bus. Return to Bellingham.

Turn on A Prairie Home Companion. Nellie McKay says that Garrison Keillor looks like Grumpy Cat. I laugh because I think she's right. It's looks quite lovely out. Take the bike for a ride. It must be the magic number for shirtless weather - 60° - because it's true.

Shin Dong-hyuk tells his stories of being born and raised in the North Korean prison camp in Kaechon city. What an ordeal!  He goes on tour and passes through Seattle (obviously).

maandag 19 januari 2015 I'm starting to get my days and nights mixed up. Yesterday, I was drained from all the emotional ups-and-downs of the Big Game. I conked out upstairs around 6. Up again near 11:30. Midnight move - Young Frankenstein.Check with France 24 - French police thank citizens for their support. Nächste! 2 AM movie - Cabaret.
Fall asleep in the middle of Cabaret. Eventually, I head up to my comfy, warm bed. Up at 6:55. Watch KING-5 News. Peanut butter, jelly and bologna sandwich for breakfast. Gregg is watching Flight 93. I can't bare to watch that tragedy. Instead, I review yesterday's game. Packer-man Jordy Nelson caught my eye. Jordy Nelson. A sweet farming boy done good, leading the Packers with some serious moves.
Review the photos of the apartment down the street. Hopefully, it might be my future home. I would cook a lot in the kitchen.
Love the cabinets and hardwood floors.
Gregg puts on an interesting movie for me - Naked As We Came. Need some fresh air. I try the trails, but I'm afraid to get lost. I wind my way up to Lakeway Drive and head back. Michael and I shop for dinner. Yummy lemon pressed chicken and spaghetti carbonara made with gourmet bacon. We watch four episodes of Transparent.

zondag 18 january 2015 Restless night. The wind blows pretty hard at night. Up at 5:28. Watch France 24 - Poll: Nearly half of French oppose Mohammed cartoons. Head downstairs to watch KING 5. They broadcast live from Henry's Tavern in SODO and show us how to make Hawktails. Theydrinks are a cheerful green and blue... Even the beer! The 12th Manhattan sounds good.
I stuff myself with left-over Shepherd's Pie for breakfast. Michael and I cruise YouTube for videos. I like the one about Starship Size Comparisons. I don't know some of them. We watch the big game on Fox Sports... commentary and all. Pacing back and forth for the 2nd quarter. I'm rather disappointed with the GB 16 - 0 SEA at half time. Pizza break. But things change in a hurry and in rather dramatic ways. Seahawks reach Super Bowl XLIX with stunning rally. Jermaine Kearse catches the game-winning touchdown.
I'm holding my breath during over time. I can't let it go when they score the final touch down. AMAZING! Relax with a movie - Boxtrolls.

zaterdag 17 januari 2015 Up at 4:48. Yesterday, the hot water was kaput, but it's back... WAY HOT! Nice hot bath in the morning. Watch Star Trek TNG: Half A Life. Egg fried rice for breakfast. KING 5 shows how Seattle landmarks show Seahawk pride. Hammering Man has been transformed into the 12th man.
Michael comes down to Seattle to do a great favor for me... to take 9 big garbage bags of clothes and lots of dead electronics to Goodwill. He's such a good organizer! Magnificent skills with a hand dolly. We drive down to the place on Dearborn. They're so efficient! People help take our donations. One more stop at my place, and we head on up to Bellingham. We take a lunch break at Five Guys Burgers & Fries at Northgate. We share music videos with each other on the iPhone. Stop at Wells Nursery to look at some Winter Jasmine... in bloom in January.
Settle down on Sweetbay Drive. Watch a little news. Gregg makes Shepard Pie. Very yummy. Watch movie - The Heat. Very very funny and foul. "Oh! My 2003!"

vrijdag 16 januari 2015 Up at 6:01. Ranchero chili omelet (no cheese) for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Actually, I'm busy purging the walk-in closet. Some stuff for Goodwill. Some for recycle bin. The garbage bin emptied this morning. I'm inspired to fill it with my junk. Occasionally, I stop and listen to Steph and John and Frangela. I bump into my neighbor JR at the elevator. He's all dressed up as a 12th fan. "You're going down to the rally." And we both screech  GO HAWKS! I want to go down to the rally, but I seem to be focused on my Purge Party. I watch a little on KING-5 - Blue Friday Seahawks Rally. It's warm, so my window is open. I hear cheering. Alice In Chains to perform at halftime of NFC Championship!
Jesus Christ! Will A.I.C. do Man In The Box? Load after load of junk... 16 years accumulating. The music of Fantasia seems to suit my moods as I rearrange, pack, dump and rest. I need magic! Constantly, I'm thinking that I should have Star Trek technology to energize and transport this stuff. ENERGIZE! Please?

They stayed pretty much on the waterfront from Alki Beach to Interbay. One exception - the Fremont Troll. It's as if they took the bike trail and stopped at the famous places. Watch movie - The Fifth Element. Welcome to Flotsam Paradise! I fall asleep after Diva Plavalaguna's Opera.Up again at 6:15. Chili on toast with on egg on top for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Democratic strategist Karl Frisch chats with Steph about the GOP's moves to kill immigration reform, and the complete disaster that another failed Romney campaign would be. Yeah. Rep. It seems that Metro and Sound Transit are starting a campaign to stop Manspreading. You know... those guys who spread their legs wide, into a sort of V-shape slouch, effectively occupying two sometimes three seats.
