dinsdag 31 januari 2017 The Pompidou Centre is turning 40-years-old. My favorite place in Paris! France 24 takes us on a tour. In 1977, Centre Pompidou was inaugurated. It now welcomes millions of visitors each year. Happy birthday!
Let's stay in the City of Light. Watch A Cat In Paris.
Ellen thanks her audience... "You're the only ones not protesting!" She finds a unique way to comment on President Donald Trump’s executive order banning entry from citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries into the U.S. using Finding Dory.

maandag 30 januari 2017 "I'm A Muslim": Mahershala Ali Delivers Powerful Speech During SAG Awards. Congratulations to Mahershala Ali. Moving speech indeed! Love and blessings to you. And CONGRATS to "Frank!" William H. Macy Thanks Trump for Making His 'Shameless' Character Seem So Normal.
The whole world is reacting strongly. In London, Members of Parliament are holding an emergency debate on the immigration measures. BBC News - Trump travel ban: Thousands join protests across UK.
Oh, please! Drum me to sleep. You can!

zondag 29 januari 2017

zondag 29 januari 2017 Can't start the day without Ben Dery's weather forecast. Snow up at the summit of Mt. Rainier.
Sunday morning movie - The Three Musketeers. I like the battle of the airships. Logan Lerman - d'Artagnan - has a duel with Rochefort on the roof of Notre Dame.
It's an oldie but a goodie. Mission To Mars. Kinda ridiculous.
Then The War Of The Worlds.  Beyond gulf of politics... intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic disregarded the US Constitution and with envious eyes stole the US Presidential 2016 election.

zaterdag 28 januari 2017 I get a tweet from the Twenty One Pilots that 100 extra tickets are available for the show tonight at the United Center in Chicago. I wish that I could go. You guys will be brilliant! Twenty One Pilots continues to soar with latest tour, album.
Watch Star Trek TNG: Identity Crisis.
France 24 can be quite educational. Fashionable Contrasts... via DC. Reaction to Trump's visit with British PM Theresa May.
A "Special Relationship"? The cartoon is hilarious!

vrijdag 27 januari 2017

vrijdag 27 januari 2017 Another pointless day... Where I accomplish nothing!
Turn on KUOW. Today on Week In Review... Controversial speaker Milo Yiannopoulos came and spoke at the University of Washington. Protests against his speech were mostly peaceful. There were reports of bricks being thrown and paintballs being launched at people lined up to see Yiannopoulos. One protester was shot. Amid UW inauguration protests, de-escalation teams help to quell conflict.
And why should I be surprised? Frank fucks up everything!

woensdag 25 januari 2017 Oh, my! I wish that I could have read lips during the 2017 Inauguration. Donald, Hillary, Barack, Georgie W., and Melania. A Bad Lip Reading of Donald Trump's Inauguration.
Mary Tyler Moore, beloved TV icon, is dead at 80. Very sad news. I adored MTM! Thank you for the laughter.

zondag 22 januari 2017 More shenanigans on Shameless! OUCH! Season 2, Ep. 11. A corkscrew in Marco's butt? (That's the least of his problems.)
Just to see the Gallagher House! Shameless locations. Take me there! Take the Pink Line to the Kedzie station.
Frank tells it like it is. Let's make America great again!

zaterdag 21 januari 2016

zaterdag 21 januari 2016 Getting ready to fly out. My nephew and I watch the Women's March on Washington on MSNBC. Wow! The turnout is magnificent. Our attention is drawn to the placards and posters.  Oh! There's a pride flag!  Jon is passionate about human rights.
Dan drops me off at CLE. Rock-n-roll, Cleveland!
It's a beautiful day to fly! Blue skies. The Chicago skyline is beautiful. O'Hare! I want to sing O, Canada! twice.
That's my gate H11B. We're flying in a 737.
In-flight entertainment - the Comedy, Drama, Romance Café Society. In the 1930s, a Bronx native moves to Hollywood and falls in love with a young woman who is seeing a married man. Socrate disait: Une vie sans examen ne vaut pas la peine d'être vécue. I love tracking our flight. We're half-way done. Heading into Montana. Landing at SEA 42 minutes early.
Nice to end the day with a little Stephen Colbert. Compare the sizes of the crowds between inaugurations "2009" and "2017". Trump's crowd IS smaller... by a million!

vrijdag 20 januari 2017

vrijdag 20 januari 2017 Are you planning to watch the Inauguration? I definitely want to say farewell to the Obamas. They'll be taking off in a helicopter from the East Lawn and fly to Palm Springs. It's THE END.
My niece and nephew are adamantly opposed to Trump. They're very vocal... and they come from Red states. Birthdays to celebrate. My sister, my brother and my brother-in-law. Lots of togetherness.
Wow! No booze at this shindig. Boisterous laughter.

woensdag 18 januari 2017

woensdag 18 januari 2017 My nephew Jon introduces me to Shameless.
How did Jon know that I would love it. Today, it's dad's burial. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. The Reverend quotes from 1 Corinthians 15:53. The families combine in the living room after the service. They seem very boisterous. Joking and laughing. I just want to be alone. So, I move into the Florida Room. Exhausted. I fall asleep sitting up. Back to the Trinter's house. Fred seems to be my special friend.

dinsdag 17 januari 2017

dinsdag 17 januari 2017 It's funeral day. Restless night's sleep. Nice hot bath. I wonder how I'll do. I'm fighting a cold. Everyone is very supportive and loving at the United Methodist Church. A picture of dad when he was 18.

maandag 16 januari 2017

maandag 16 januari 2017 Happy Martin Luther King Day.
The Controversial History of Martin Luther King Day. I need to explore Macau because my nephew Alex is going there. Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. It is the most densely populated region in the world. Vlogger Winston explains. It's cold and drizzly outside. The National Geographic channel is having at Cosmos Neil Degrasse Tyson marathon. I have always loved that incredible cosmic calendar. Ellen is very perky! It's a new games!

zondag 15 januari 2017

zondag 15 januari 2017 Early morning cartoon - Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man vs. the Sinister Six. The Sinister Six is a supervillain team that Doctor Octopus founded. Spider-Man fought alongside the Avengers and led a team of heroes at S.H.I.E.L.D. Now he's learning what it means to be the ultimate hero.
Over to mom's house to see sisters and nephews. It's really fun to be with them... especially when I have to explain Golden Shower to my sister Tina. (Her sons know!) Those savvy boys watch SNL. The best meat loaf ever for lunch. I relax in the Florida Room (where dad would sit) watching the Weather Channel and the news... just he would. They show me dad's obituary - Laurence John Miller.
Family reunions...

zaterdag 14 januari 2017

zaterdag 14 januari 2017 Up at 2 AM. It's Travel Day! Bellair shuttle to Seattle. We stop at Tulalip to pick up a few people. Hello UW, Lake Union, Fred Hutchinson and skyscrapers. The construction cranes and buildings are lit green and blue for the Hawks. Visit Kaladi Brothers for a soy chai latte. My laptop remembers the Wi-Fi connection. So, I'm going to catch up with the news. HuffPo: Look, These ‘Golden Shower’ Jokes Are Just Funny, OK?
It seems cold everywhere in the city... in the train, definitely on the streets and even in the McDonald's across from the Westin Hotel. Uff da! There's cheese on the sausage McMuffin with egg! After my strolling, I take the light rail to the airport. Alaska seems to have their flights all in a row.
Time flights when you blog, but Jason Kertson is performing in the terminal. Did you get frisked at TSA, Jason?
My flight takes off early. Cool! Wi-Fi at 30,000 feet in the air. American Airlines has a variety of movies to watch. My choice - Deepwater Horizon. A bruisingly real disaster movie. Mark Wahlberg is back in my life.
Flight flight to CLE has Wi-Fi, but no movies. Hoping to watch Finding Dory. The aircraft seems older and duller, but it will get me to my destination.

vrijdag 13 januari 2017

vrijdag 13 januari 2017 Midnight movie - Big Daddy. A thirtysomething slacker attempts to inject some stability into his life by adopting an impressionable 5-year-old. Next - Expelled. Felix is a legendary prankster who gets expelled from his high school. I like Felix' priorities.
I manage to sleep a little bit. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Lots of people are calling into the show - weeping. Concerns about the repeal of the ACA. The Republicans hate Obama so much that they would let 20 million people suffer. Head into town for a change of scenery. Walk up Maple... the Bellingham Academy of (S)elf Defense.
I visit the Food Co-op to rest and warm up. It's really busy. Curried peas and carrots for lunch. Back at the apartment. Watch Ellen. What a brave mom that Adam Devine has! At last... Star Trek: Nemesis. Never saw the sun shining so bright, Never saw things going so right, Noticing the days hurrying by, When you're in love, my how they fly.

After a little sleep, I turn on Stephanie Miller. She's practicing her French today (which is terrible). Vive la Résistance!, she says numerous times. Confirmation controversies kick off when the Senate Judiciary Committee convenes hearings Tuesday on the nomination of Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions to be attorney general. The system is rigged! Ellen believes that some well-known roles that were written for her, but somehow Sandra Bullock ended up playing them. Who are you calling America's Sweetheart? Yeah, it's rigged. They rigged it! Rigged it good! Thank you, Rocky Mountain Mike!

A team of Arctic-research scientists uncover the body of a 40,000-year-old man. Seahawks find an unlikely star, Paul Richardson makes incredible TD catch. With one hand! This dude is the truth!

Saturday, January 7, 2017

zaterdag 7 januari 2017

zaterdag 7 januari 2017 Midnight movie - Mad Max: Fury Road. Up at 7 AM. I don't like Trader Joe's coconut creamer. The soy creamer is much smoother. E-mail from Kamen. Watch out R. I.! Saturday Storm Likely Biggest Since 2015 For Parts Of New England.
Bike downtown to get some Organic Valley Soy Creamer. Whole-bean processing and fair trade ingredients. Smooth texture and all the nutritional benefits. Yay! Not much traffic. Pre-game partying before the Seahawks - Lions game, I suppose. Boys playing on the ice.
Seahawks face Lions in opening round of NFC playoffs. I got fried chicken, jo jo's and Vendange chardonnay from Haggen's. I'm ready for the game. Go, Hawks!
