It's really rainy for my walk to work. My shoes are soaked. I can't believe that the kids are going on parade. I'm in the Infant Room all day. Back and forth between the Tree Frogs and the Sea Turtles. It's busy but steady. Michele's kids seem a little on-edge, though. Lots of parents in the room to take their kids on parade. Bottles, diapers and naps. In the lobby, the pumpkin paint project is judged. Cool!
I'm not sure about pumpkin π. They're creative, though.
Streetcar to Whole Foods to pick up dinner. Back at my place. Watch KOMO News. Test flight tragedy. Virgin Galactic's space tourism rocket crashes; 1 killed, 1 injured. Something scary for Halloween. Star Trek DS9 - Little Green Men. Quark crash lands on Earth in the 20th Century and learns the people irradiate their own planet. OMG! Thai carrot salad and teriyaki chicken with rice for dinner. Just watching The Walking Dead. It has it light moments. Carl needs a haircut!

Crowds of people filled the Mission District and lit fires and fireworks to celebrate. Spaghettios with meatballs for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. So freaking funny! Comedy duo Frangela joins the show. It's a bawmy 59° and a little drizzly for my walk to work. Do a few short breaks. FIRE DRILL! The teachers of the Infant Room are angry about the timing of it. Outside to the playground... in the rain! All of the babies are crying. After the mayhem, I go to visit the Starfish. Some of them are enjoying sticker art and some are reading books with Kenn. Over to Sea Turtles. I can't believe that most of them are asleep. Up to Moons & Stars. Are these guys whacked out on a sugar high? Whew! It's lunchtime. Interesting. Sugar high coming! Lucien has a Reese's peanut butter cup
and a KozyShack rice pudding in his lunch. Back down to Sea Turtles. The teachers look tired. One of them feels sick. (I felt sick yesterday after my vaccination.) It's raining when I leave. Streetcar to d'town. Pike Market is planning to expand. Pike Up!
A little shopping at City Target. Home. Watch KOMO News. The Seahawks welcomed the Marysville-Pilchuck High School football team to practice at their facility Tuesday following last week's deadly shooting at the school. Lay in bed for a while. Egg salad sandwich for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Travis is cute there... petting Fred.
Walking to work, I almost got hit by a car at 9th & Virginia. A car almost hits the streetcar. Idiots! Rhoda is here to give us the vaccination. Ouch! With the Sea Turtles for little. Nora fights me for a nap, so I give her to Anna. Instant nap. Over to Starfish. The kids are doing puzzles and reading books. Kenn is reading Robots Slither.
Nice leisurely lunchtime. I do the diapers while Patty sets up the nap mats. Some conk right out at nap time, but some linger a while. Back to the Sea Turtles. Lots of crying. They're tired and cranky. I get to go home a little early. Not feeling very well. Home again. Fill out the ballot. Manhattan clam chowder for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. The gang and callers are pouncing on Chris Christie and... Jon Stewart Rips Ebola Panic, Asks Why Christie’s ‘Such a D*ck’! It's 53° and drizzly for my walk to work. Stop into the South Lake Union Bartell Drugs, and I see my old friend Jon. (Why aren't you in school?) He clerks me for my $2.50 bag of Take 5. I'm in 4 rooms. Moons & Stars make me nervous. Adrenaline is coursing through my veins after 45 minutes with them. High octane kids!
I try to find my calm again for the Infant Room. The Tree Frogs need a little attention while waiting for their moms. We assure each one, "Your mom will me here soon." Over to Sea Turtles for a couple hours. Busy time! Diapers, feedings and naps. There's such an age difference in this room. Some are crawlers. Some are not. But things are cool for a while. My only quiet time - Starfish nap time. I get to chat with Patty about this and that... mostly about my dad. When I leave work, I feel like I need a shower. I stink. It's 60° and cloudy for my walk home. Watch the last of Wizards Of Waverly Place - Family Wizard. It's the Family Feud. Max goes crazy for power when he gets a question right. Bow down to the Super Sibbling!
Uff da! It's a nice hot bath for me. Thanks to hot water. So nice and relaxing. I'd really like a Swedish tub, but I'll do without it. Relax tonight with Audioslave!

Play a little while in the fresh air. Only 4 in the group. I change their diapers while Crystal sets up lunches. Back to the Ducklings. Diapers, bottles and one nap. Quiet time for the Dolphins. They all sleep at the same time. At last... Ducklings again. Free play. Streetcar to Denny. Bus #8 up to B'way. A little shopping at the market. Bus #49 to d'town. Watch KOMO News. They have a segment about the Goliath Bird Eating Spider. Ew! It's 51° and cloudy for my walk to work. Planning time for the Dolphin teachers. After Spanish, we take the kids to the playground. They chase my bubbles. I yell POP! And they giggle. Only 5 kids today. Lunchtime is done in 10 minutes. I clean up the lunch mess while Anne changing diapers. Over to Seahorses to cover lunch breaks for Sharon and Kenn. Another lunch mess to clean up. I take a few to the Bike Room. Naps are easy... except that we have one non-napper. Streetcar to Denny. I'm listening to KOMO Radio. Oh no! My heart sinks - 2 dead, 4 critically injured in shooting at Marysville high school. They interview some of the students... "Four shots went off. I thought it was firecrackers, and then everyone started ducking under the tables, and then everyone started screaming, 'Run, it's a gun!'" I just couldn't listen anymore. Up to B'way to pick up a few things. #9 Express bus to Pike, and I walk the rest of the way home. Watch the news. Students comfort each other.

donderdag 23 oktober 2014 Yesterday's news wiped me out. I start watching KOMO News at 5, but I conk out again. Oh! I'm looking forward to the American Music Awards. Sam Smith, 5SOS, Blige To Perform 2014 AMAs. Tunafish salad sandwich for breakfast.
Light rain for my walk to work. I move back and forth between the Sunshine Kids and the Wild Flowers. Channel has an elaborate circle time dealing with pumpkins. I stand at the water table station. Splash, splash! Lunchtime with the Sunshine Kids. I need help at nap time, however. They're a little rebellious today. But they all sleep. Walk home. A downpour gets me all wet. Back at my place. Put on some dry clothes. In entertainment news - James Blunt Agrees: 'You're Beautiful' Was 'Annoying'. I don't know about that. This is annoying to me: Wave Your hands in the air like you don't care! A Doctors Without Borders physician back from West Africa tests positive for Ebola at a New York hospital. It's breaking news on The Rachel Maddow Show - Ebola risks specific to body fluids.
Gruesome death awaits us all!
Chicken and rice for dinner. But I cannot end this evening on a gruesome note. Watch Wizards Of Waverly Place - Alex The Puppetmaster. The antics of Justin and Zeke crack me up. It's all for the Moon-based biosphere!

What's going on in Ottawa? It shakes me up. Canadian Parliament Shootings. I used to live in Lower Town... So close to Parliament Hill. I plug in KOMO Radio to listen to the latest developments.  My beautiful Ottawa.
Troubled walk to work. I check the news again. Fusillade au parlement d'Ottawa. Le Canada est un pays de non-violence, ne venez pas troubler la paix de nos enfants. I try to clear my eyes, but the tears come back. One foot in front of the other... I can make it.

Watch France 24. Pistorius sentenced to five years over Steenkamp killing. Manage to fall asleep during the news. Noise upstairs wakes me up again. Bologna and sauerkraut sandwich for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Bob Cesca of The Daily Banter comes on the show, talking about how Republican Sen. Ted Cruz is hampering Ebola efforts. Will the hysteria abate?
It's 54° and a breezy for my walk to work. I visit 3 rooms today. One hour of planning time for a Sea Otter teacher. Well... We're outside then inside. (I don't count the playground as a room.) I change a couple of poopy diapers while most of them play with a paint project. Over to Ducklings for a couple hours. Only 4 kids here. Easy-going time. Fun with free play. I feed Elliot some lunch. He seems to love sweet potatoes. He spits out the peas.
Up to Trailblazers. These pre-schoolers seem very restless. A lot of these guys conk right out for nap time... but not today. I don't know what's going on. No nap. Yes nap. Four non-nappers. "Can I read books now?" Can I go now? Yes, I can! Streetcar to d'town.
I feel the rain coming, so I head straight up to Taco Del Mar to get a Mondo Burrito. Hunker down. Watch KOMO News. Check the weather blog: 70 degrees in October? No problem this year... But the photo looks a little cooked. We'll see how it works.

Then we head down to the deck... and run, run, run, run, run! The kids get silly at lunchtime. Looking forward to a quiet nap time. Walk up Mercer to Queen Anne. The sidewalks are in better condition. Shop at the 500 Mercer QFC and Metropolitan Market. #2 bus back to d'town. Boys in the back to admire. Watch Ronan Farrow Daily. The bat factor: Origins of Ebola. Yay for the medical SWAT team!
Then it's Wizards Of Waverly Place - Rock Around The Clock. The Russo's are good dancers. Fun show! Max looks good in leather.
Next - Misfortune At The Beach. Max makes his own beach.
The Russos go to the beach and find a fortune telling booth called "Zelzar." Jerry tells the kids not to get a fortune because for wizards, they are very real. Justin and Max get good fortunes, but Alex's fortune says, "Say goodbye to your life."

After all the shootings and battles... Ah, yes! I love the final scene where they ride off.

Walk up to Denny. Bus #40 up to Mercer to avoid a little drizzle. I'm with the Dolphins while their teachers get planning time. Wow! They really love Spanish with Paola. She sings El Pato Renato to them. Only 5 of them. We head outside. Their teachers help us with the rain gear because it's wet on the playground. The kids love to play in the drizzle. Nice wet sand to make sand castles...
But they keep stealing my shovel. The transition to indoors goes well. We need to change some wet pants and dresses. I change diapers while Anne sets up lunches. Over to Sea Turtles. Just a few feedings and diapers to do. It's mostly freeplay. A fairly decent drizzle when I leave. Streetcar to d'town. Walking up Union Street to my place...  Something new at the ACT Theater.
Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Never heard of it. My shoes are wet. Watch the news. It's spirit week in Randle, WA. It's like the Blur song where "girls who are boys/who like boys to be girls/who do boys like they're girls/who do girls like they're boys"... Boys asked to leave school after dressing like women.
Turkey pot pie for dinner. Watch movie - Star Trek Into Darkness. The voice of doom from a computer. How typical! Autopilot function has been destroyed. Manual operation only.
