Back To Caprica

Caprica - 58 years before the fall.

Oh, Zoe.

Ben? What's on your mind?

Welcome to the Caprica City Lev station.

A cryptic message from Zoe to mom.

Oh my Gods! He's got a bomb!

Ben blows himself up... killing so many people.

BOOM!

Down there!

Magic paper - combination code to enter virtual reality.

Avatar Zoe is covered in blood.

The campus of Daniel Graystone.

Caprica City - city of light.

City of darkness.

As the Taurons say...

Caprica tells the story of how Colonial humanity first created the robotic Cybernetic Lifeform Nodes or Cylons.

woensdag 6 mei 2009

woensdag 6 mei 2009 Up with alarm. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Check e-mail - nothing. Toast and chili for breakfast. Forecast says more rain. Bath. Walk up to Victrola for coffee. Walk down Bellevue in the rain to work. At least, on this rainy day, we have Bike Room for Dolphins and Sea Otters. 9 to 12 - Planning time for Andy. (Andy admits to me, "My group is crazy." I agree.) Kenn covers for Charmaine. Kenn brings in some big Legos and other builders. Julia and Manav make some interesting creations. Julia tells me, "It's a lawn mower."

Manav builds his own tower.

Julian is looking for trouble - stealing toys, knocking stuff over, dumping. It's a good thing to let them loose in the Bike Room... but Manav falls off the climber head first. Oy! I take Manav with me to the classroom to watch him. Andy checks him out, too. Up to Moons & Stars. Ethan invites me to sit at his lunch table. Thanks, Ethan. I read Bee-Wigged to Carlos and Allison. That story cracks me up!

Down to Starfish for Lonnie's lunch. Cyrus puts himself to sleep... while I wrestle with Iris. Kathy helps her go to sleep. Streetcar to d'town. #72 bus tunnel to Uwajimaya. Get the daily special - Kung Pao Chicken. #101 bus tunnel back to my place. I'm tired of getting rained on. Take off wet clothes and shoes. Turn on The World. Listen to report about how Mexico is Recovering From Swine Flu. Café Tacuba sounds like a fun restaurant in Mexico City, but the servers still need to wear masks.

dinsdag 5 mei 2009

dinsdag 5 mei 2009 Up at 1:58. Rain is hitting my window. Turn on BBC News. Confusing reports about Taleban invasions into Pakistan. Swat Residents 'Flee Their Homes' Toast and 2 fried eggs for breakfast. Wow. It's raining hard. Bath. Turn on Stephanie Miller. She talks about the interview that Joe The Plumber had with Christianity Today. My tummy is a little upset with that Mondo Burrito. I can't believe I ate it all last night. Up to Kaladi for some coffee. Animal-Rights-Guy turns off David Gray and witches to another station. (I like David Gray.) Oh, well. Walk back. Oh! There's The Boy In The Window!

Drop off my diary at home. Walk up to Whole Foods to buy some mineral water. Still raining off and on. Breaks starting with Tanya. Pancakes for snack. Yummy. Rory - a 3-year-old - talks about the numbers of people who have died from swine flu at the snack table. He tells me, "150 in Mexico." Downstairs for Leisha's and Lonnie's breaks. Only 5 Starfish. I take 4 of them to the Bike Room. They need to blow off some steam. Over to Sea Otters for those breaks. 11 - Elaine's lunch. They're staying indoors today. Gloria visits to take pictures. Some of the Dolphins mingle with the Sea Otters - the new Rainforest group. Kenn has only 30 minutes to set up lunches. So, Andy does circle time while the other lunches are set up. Up to Rainforest Kids for Remi's lunch. I have fun chatting with the kids while they eat. They are fascinated with my "bubble water" - my mineral water. Nap time is easy. They play Nick Drake.

Walk back to my place. Drop off my water. Walk down to Benaroya Hall and bus tunnel back. The weather is still wild. The wind blows spray off Elliott Bay.

It's a Rainy Cinco De Mayo by Seattle Sketcher. Listen to Ron Reagan. Wow! He talks about Socialism. That's gutsy of him. Corned beef and spaghetti (left-overs) for dinner. Watch Legend Of The Seeker - Cursed.

Then watch movie - Starship Troopers. I forget how brutal and violent this movie is.

maandag 4 mei 2009

maandag 4 mei 2009 Up at 6:30. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Comedian Tom Kenny (the voice of Spongebob Squarepants) joins them in studio. The Revolution In Boston carries Steph. Nice! Yay, Boston! I brunch with Michael at the B & O on Olive Way. Over to his place... He gives me Caprica. But first... We walk down to Regal to watch Wolverine.

Of all things I saw in that movie... a be-headed skull lazering through a cylo in Three-Mile-Island, Scott shredding his High School - producing powerful "optic blasts" from his eyes... But what was the most impressive and poignant... All those wars! All those wars... the American Civil War, World War I, World War II, and eventually the Vietnam War, their regenerative powers keep them from being killed in the battlefield. I am watching this warring on The Anniversary Of The Kent State Massacre.
No more war. Please. Stop it. Peace. Please.

zondag 3 mei 2009

zondag 3 mei 2009 OK I'm a mass transportation geek. People all over the world do mass transportation better than the USA. Prove me wrong.
Walk up to Cal Anderson Park. It's a blah, blah day.

zaterdag 2 mei 2009

zaterdag 2 mei 2009 Awake at 1:54 AM. Watch movie - The Day The Earth Stood Still. I use Google Earth to explore the area where - in 1928 - a mountaineer (Keanu Reeves) encounters a glowing sphere while on an expedition in the snowy Karakorum mountains of India. It amazes me that there's a highway system up there. Fall back to sleep. Up again at 8:30. Listen to Eat The State. Then watch Sweet Love Making - Krod Mandoon.

Walk over to 8th And Pine to get a #49 to Uwajimaya. Get some chicken chow mein and Gekkeikan. Wow! Lots of rain. Just stay at home to watch episodes of Doctor Who.

I love Love & Monsters as well as Christmas Invasion.

Then I watch an episode of Eureka - Bad To The Drone.

Then I watch Serenity.

Target The Reavers! TARGET THE REAVERS!!!

vrijdag 1 mei 2009

vrijdag 1 mei 2009 Up at 3:38. Turn on BBC News. They report about life in Mexico City dealing with the swine flu. Mexico City - with a population of 20 million - has practically shut down. Rice and crab salad for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. She talks about her new puppy, Joey. Bath. Walk up to Victrola for coffee. One of the roasters is learning how to pull shots of espresso. More good news for equal rights. Maine Senate passes same-sex marriage bill! Nastiness from Virginia Foxx. NC Rep. Foxx calls hate crime murder case a 'hoax' Oh, boy.

Steph mocks Virginia mercilessly. Walk down Belmont to work. Planning time for Andy - to meet with Gloria about transition. Charmaine and I use the water table. The kids love it!

Sara tries to get my attention.

Charmaine and Andy take the Dolphins to Fairview Park for a picnic. I get to join them after I set up some lunches and mats. We enjoy ourselves. Andy takes photos... not me. Even though we're worn out, the Dolphins resist nap time. Oy! I'm glad that Kenn can get Julia to sleep. Get some Swimming Garden at the Thai Food Truck. Streetcar to d'town. How civilized... yummy Thai food and the streetcar. Life is good!

Drop off stuff at home. #49 up to Cal Anderson Park. They're setting up for Daedalus Rising. Cool! It's May Pole Dancing. Listen to The World. I like the report about Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao. Watch Doctor Who - Aliens Of London and World War III.
