donderdag 7 november 2019

donderdag 7 november 2019 Turn on WEWS for weather and headlines. Ellen DeGeneres challenges a 17-year-old to use a map, a phone book and a rotary phone. I was yelling at my iPad while watching this! Shia LaBeouf was the perfect person to put in the hot seat to answer Burning Questions. He ate a ghost pepper before this segment. What a sport, Shia! This is real life! Standing ovation! 😊 I have to admit that I was a little thrilled to see snow. Soon, I have a feeling that this won't seem like a special event. Ohioans are telling me that it's too early for snow. Fun little movie with my dinner - The Doomsday Machine. US authorities discover that the Chinese have the means to disrupt the Earth's tectonic stability. Well... The Earth blows up. A group of astronauts heading to Venus discover that they are the last beings alive. Oh, dear.

Turn on Stephanie Miller. The Blue Wave continued last night! Huff Po: BLUE CRUSH: DEMS BIG IN BELLWETHERS. Easy, Tor, easy.
Outside briefly. Brrrr! It's chilly. Back home to warm up and to watch Rocky Jones: Menace from Outer Space

dinsdag 5 november 2019

dinsdag 5 november 2019 Midnight movie - Fight Club. Oy!
Nightmares from that movie! Why did I watch it? It was stuck in a pile of old DVDs. I thought, "Oh! I haven't seen this for a long time." Ed Norton and Brad Pitt were 20 years younger. With all the violent behavior, their sex appeal was diminished immensely. A tale of disaffected American men... The Men Who Still Love "Fight Club" No smoking, Brad!
Election Day! Do your job! Go out and vote. I’m gonna vote so hard the machine is gonna need a cigarette! (Joan smokes. Not me.)
It's a 30-minute walk to Philips Gym where we vote today. Lots of different people are excercising their civic right. I had to prove my residency. Ew! Touch screen machines. I get a sticker!
Fall leaves and blue skies. It's a beautiful day! Visit Wilder Bowl.
Various Martians: Ack! Ack! Ack! While waiting for voting results, I watch 1996 American comic, science-fiction, thriller Mars Attacks!

maandag 4 november 2019

maandag 4 november 2019 Midnight movie - MST3K: I Was a Teenage Werewolf starring Michael Landon as a troubled teenager (Tony) of Rockdale High. Tony lashes out on a friend after an innocent prank during a Halloween party. Sock Hop over!
Still excited from Sunday’s win! The Seahawks were phenomenal all day long. How about that game-winning 75-yard drive?! Incredible. Russell Wilson throws 5 TDs, Seahawks outlast Bucs 40-34 in OT. Go Hawks!
I feel low-energy for a walk, but I force myself to go out. A grey dome covers Oberlin, and the sun shows like a silver disk. Whew! Gusts of wind push me around. It's kinda fun!
November 4, 2010 - I visit the Stone Beach at South Lake Union Park.
Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want. So tell me what you want, what you really, really want. I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want. So tell me what you want, what you really, really want. I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha).I wanna really, really, really wanna zigazig ah.

zondag 3 november 2019

zondag 3 november 2019 Tonight: A Jake Gyllenhaal marathon.
Jake participates in a horrible ending in the Sci-Fi, Horror, Thriller film Life. Midnight: Jake fights world-wide ecological disasters in the Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi film The Day After Tomorrow. This trilogy is awesome! My final film tonight... Jake plays the unhinged, villainous anti-hero in Spider-Man: Far from Home.
Bart: Well, don't just sit there lookin' stupid, graspin' your hands in pain. How 'bout a little applause for the Waco Kid? I ❤️ Blazing Saddles... and I always will. It's a lovely day in Rock Ridge.
Also, it's a lovely day in Oberlin. Partly cloud, 46.3 fall-like degrees. I walk all the way to the Oberlin IGA and back. Stop to read a new library book - Travels with Charley in Tappan Square.
The climate changed quickly to cold and the trees burst into color, the red and yellows you can't believe. It isn't only color but a glowing, as though the leaves gobbled the light of the autumn sun and then released it slowly. There's a quality of fire in these colors. -John Steinbeck

zaterdag 2 november 2019

zaterdag 2 november 2019 Watch the historical drama The King played by the lovely and talented Timothée Chalamet. He plays King Henry V known for his military successes during the Hundred Years' War against France. It's a very dark, moody movie to enjoy at night.
Are my lungs a bizarre playground for blood clots? I wonder after watching Rick & Morty: Anatomy Park. It's like Fantastic Voyage!
How exciting for Hal Sparks! He reached 10K subscribers! Yes, Hal. Donald is in Deep Doo Doo! Great show!
Congrats everyone! We made it to Blade Runner. In many ways, the real 2019 seems more dystopian. And where are the flying cars?
Deckard: I have had people walk out on me before, but not... when I was being so charming.

zaterdag 1 november 2019

zaterdag 1 november 2019 A cartoon before the main feature... Rick hooks up the family's tv receiver with reality-tv shows from alternate dimensions in Rixty Minutes. It's crazy! It's Turbulent Juice!
Midnight movie - The classic 1976 American supernatural horror film - Carrie. Did Tommy - William Katt - die when the bucket hit his head? Did Carrie - Sissy Spacek - really bury herself with house?
Stephanie Miller posted the interview with Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) on-line. He gives us an insider’s look at the impeachment process. I'm grateful (like Eric) that the Blue Wave took control of the House. But check out Travis’ costume! Shiro! It's a chilly 35°F. Grey and cloudy. I decide that I'm strong enough to take the long walk to town. Lunch at Subway Oberlin.
ESPN: 'We're all living the dream': Inside the Nationals' astonishing World Series run. In honor of the amazing Washington Nationals, I enjoy the tail of the Washington Senators in Damn Yankees.
