Up for DEN v FRA. This should be a good game. They play La Marseillaise too fast! Go France! Fiers d'être bleus!. Les Bleus who wear white.
Kasper Dolberg (12) and Benjamin Mendy (22) play footsie. Scoreless match! Lots of whistles and boos from the crowd. What a letdown!
Supreme Court upholds Trump's travel ban. Outside the Supreme Court, the crowd is shouting “Shame! Shame! Shame!” & waving signs that say “No Muslim Ban.” The chants are drowning out members of Congress.
Down to the Co-op for a nice, big avocado sandwich from the deli. Walking down State Street, I see the scaled model of our solar system - State of the Solar System. I walk through the inner planets, but there's nothing past Mars. Where are Jupiter, Saturn, etc.? Say "hi" Earth.
I pass by the Cafe Rumba. People are watching a soccer match.

zondag 24 juni 2018 Catching up with Real Time at Midnight. Bill Maher was rooting for a recession because he believes that an economic downturn will hurt Donald Trump politically. A recession is a survivable event. What Trump is doing to this country is not.
I agree with Dean Obeidallah... Rooting for a recession could result in Trump becoming the authoritarian ruler that we desperately want to prevent! Hey Bill Maher! This Liberal Also Slammed Your Rooting For a Recession: During economic downturns, authoritarian leaders are born. I know this protester! I was watching the news... and out loud I said, "I know her!" I worked with her at Pike Market Child Care. She was a pre-school teacher. She was always raising my consciousness about economic justice, racism, poverty and the war economy. She marched with me in one demonstration. Because of her, I was involved in my own activism - Gay rights, marriage equality and AIDS awareness. Bless you, L. Happy Juneteenth, everyone! Arif Gursel, an engineer from Bellevue, created a space called The Union where black people can come and learn, grow, hang out and uplift others in the community. It's slightly cooler today but still sunny. Bike down to the library to put a hold on Michael Eric Dyson's book - What Truth Sounds Like. Compassion is created when we see someone suffering and want to help. With all that's happening today, I refer to Bobby Kennedy. Kennedy Quoted Aeschylus:

What we need in the United States is not division. what we need in the United States is not hatred. What we need in the United States is not violence and lawlessness, but love and wisdom and compassion toward one another, a feeling of justice to those who still suffer in our country, whether they be white or whether they be black.

I manage to go back to sleep. Up with the controversy which rages on across the world. We will not apologize for doing our job, says Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen of the “zero tolerance” immigration policy involving family separations.
Former Dir. Office Gov. Ethics Walter Shaub has this opinion. Translation: "We will not apologize for the humanitarian crisis we created on April 6 and that has spiraled out of control. Why?
