woensdag 10 juni 2009

woensdag 10 juni 2009 Up with alarm. Turn on BBC News. Nothing catches my attention. Chili on toast for breakfast. Bath. Up to Kaladi for coffee. Their wi-fi is still kaput. Listen to Stephanie Miller. They talk a lot about health care reform. Democrats in both the House and Senate accelerated their drive to enact health care legislation yesterday, outlining proposals to extend coverage to uninsured millions but omitting most details on plans for raising more than $1 trillion needed to cover costs. Back to my place for a little bit. #49 up to B'way. Get a York peppermint pattie.Walk down Belmont to work. It's only 9:30. I'm so early. 10 - Elaine's break. The Starfish are outside on the playground. Gabriella vomits on the deck. Joyce takes care of her inside and Patty cleans up the mess. Bella conks out as soon as we get inside. The temp. is 63°F but it feels hot to me. 11 - Set up lunches for Seahorses and Starfish. Seahorses eat early. Patty and Yachea are running that group. They're doing a great job. 12 - Elaine's lunch. She gets Ben asleep just in time. Jack is upset about everything. I try to calm him down by standing up and holding him singing Ol' McDonald. He relaxes and conks out. The Starfish lunches come in 2 shifts. 1 - Anne's lunch. It's quiet time. Even Noelani sleeps. Heather takes the early-risers outside. When they come in, they play in the sinks - water play. 3 - Summer Camp comes back from Discovery Park. They're tired. 16 of them conk out... even Audrey and Gavin. 3 o'clock Streetcar to d'town. Drop off stuff at home. Take a little walk up Pike... Hi, Jeremiah working in Kaladi. Over to Harvard, visit First Hill Park and through Freeway Park back to my place. Turn on Ron Reagan. He talks about a 72-year-old woman getting tazed. It's outrageous! The police are becoming more and more like bullies. Can we trust the people who are publicly hired to protect us anymore? The police?
