vrijdag 24 april 2015

vrijdag 24 april 2015 Difficult to settle down after work. Midnight movie - South Park: BL&U. It feels like a time warp to see Bill Clinton. Up at 5:55. Chicken noodle soup for breakfast. Turn on KUOW - NPR: Morning Edition. Another time warp... The Hubble Telescope is Celebrating its 25th Anniversary. In loving devotion, Adam Cole sings for Hubble. It's 51 and partly cloudy for my walk up to Uwajimaya. It's been a while. I get some Shao Xing Hua Tiao. Maybe I'll put some in my Schewan eggplant recipe. Gusty breezes blow me around while I walk up Fourth Avenue. I love the weather.
I just wonder... With so many tourists in our city, do they enjoy being tossed and turned in this late April day? The rain occasionally spitting on them? It's not like the postcards.
At home, I cook a bit. Listen to The Tavis Smiley Show. Lots about Cuba. The U.S. is moving to normalize relations with Cuba. President Obama broke the diplomatic barrier by meeting with Raul Castro in Panama earlier this month, and the White House is seeking to end Cuba’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism. Tavis interviews Catherine Murphy - The Cultural Overlap Between the U.S. and Cuba. It matches the continuation of watching The Kennedys - Cuban Missiles.
Watch movie - X-Men: First Class. The story is set primarily in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. It's Sebastian Shaw who compels the general to have the USSR install missiles in Cuba.
