zondag 31 oktober 2010 Up at 7:00. Turn on KEXP for Mind Over Matters. Listen to Ken O'Keefe's story about how the MV Mavi Marmara was attacked by the Israeli forces as part of the Gaza flotilla raid. Amazing story. And Ken is an amazing man. Then Marilyn Waring talks about Sex, Lies and Global Economics... demystifying global economics from a feminist perspective. Black beans on toast for breakfast. I think the weather forecast in a little optimistic. We'll see.

Turn on A Prairie Home Companion. Dusty and Lefty find about $100,000,000 in bags of gold, but the mayor of Hopewell uses "the dust" to make a new road through his town. I laugh out loud listening to a phone conversation between Guy Noir and Pres. George W. Bush. He's alive and well, leanrning French and living in Zürich, Switzerland. Mr. Bush informs us that Switzerland is named after Carl Dean "Alfalfa" Switzer.

I like Garrison's twist on The Raven. "Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered String Theory." Walk up to Whole Foods to get some Italian soda, paper towels and to visit the salad bar. Back to my place to drop stuff off. It's a radio day. Listen to pod casts of Wait, Wait and Rick Steves. They challenge Bobby McFerrin to answer three questions about unhappiness. Rick interviews Carl Hoffman about The Lunatic Express. Carl describes his experiences traveling on the most notorious, over-crowded trains, planes, busses and ferries from India to the Andes. During the Open Phones segment, a caller recommends a book about one of my favorite countries... The Discovery Of France. I switch to France 24 to listen to News, Sport and Weather.

Take a walk up to B'way. There are a few people people in costume for Halloween. Nothing very interesting. Just walking around and looking.
For sale at the market off Harvard.
Captain's log, stardate 1709.2. Patrolling outpost guarding the neutral zone between planets Romulus and Remus and the rest of the galaxy; received an emergency call from Outpost 4. The USS Enterprise is moving to investigate and assist.

Happy Halloween.
