woensdag 23 februari 2011

woensdag 23 februari 2011 Another restless night. Turn on France 24. So much news about Libya. Report - Libyan Revolt Spreads As Cities Fall To Protesters. I fall asleep again during Talking Points, but I have weird dreams. Watch KOMO News. They're really hyping up the snow storm. Rice and hard boiled egg for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. A caller from Columbus tells of his experience at the Ohio Statehouse. Report - 5,200 opponents make loud show at the Capitol over Senate Bill 5.

Shower. Walk up to Kaladi for some of Jeremiah's great coffee. He asks me if I'm excited about the impending snow. I confess that I'm rather indifferent, but "I'm not going to freak out (which most Seattlites do) if it comes." Back to my place with my coffee. Watch Stephanie Miller on Hal Spark's UStream. Hal refers to Rush Limbaugh's “Soft-core porn” which he plays on his show. It's actually My City Was Gone by the Pretenders.

“I WENT BACK TO OHIO
BUT MY PRETTY COUNTRYSIDE
HAD BEEN PAVED DOWN THE MIDDLE
BY A GOVERNMENT THAT HAD NO PRIDE
THE FARMS OF OHIO
HAD BEEN REPLACED BY SHOPPING MALLS
AND MUZAK FILLED THE AIR
FROM SENECA TO CUYAHOGA FALLS
SAID, A, O, OH WAY TO GO OHIO”

Walk up Westlake to work. 10 to 11:15 - Wash dishes for Teresa. Turn on the radio. The radio is blasting out KEXP! That hippie long haired stuff! Tanja changed the station last night. I listen to something that I haven't heard in a long time.

After I deliver the dishes. I head down to the playground to join the 7 Seahorses. It's Kenn's lunch. These guys are emotional. And they don't want to stay out in the cold. We take them inside. I set up lunches while Patty does circle. The Seahorses love their circle. I get to eat lunch with the group today. 45-minute lunches from now on. 12:30 - Cristin's lunch. Sharon is subbing for Toni. She and I settle the 7 Starsih down for naps. There's resistance in both sides of Seahorses and Starfish. Patience! Patience. 1:15 - Sharyn's lunch. Both Cristin and I try to deal with the resistance. Finally, all are asleep by 1:30. 2 - Patty's lunch. The Seahorses are napping. They sleep through the whole hour. Thank the child care gods! Kenn and I talk about this and that. When Patty comes back at 2:45, Kenn gets a 15-minute. Glad to leave. Stress levels are always high with snow warnings. Walk to d'town. Meander a little to see if the snow falls. I see commuters with frantic looks on their faces... to get out while the goin' is good. Drop off stuff at my place. Listen to a little of The World. Americans are trying to get out of Libya. They interview an American who just fled Libya. She was a social studies teacher at the American School in Tripoli. Report - An American Who Fled Libya. While walking, I got a little snow on me. I want to walk some more... up to Whole Foods to get some Hot Bar. Back to my place. Watch some KOMO News. More snow hype. Colder air will soon move in, dropping the temperature to below freezing at the ground level and allowing snow to stick in Seattle proper. Switch to Star Trek - Elaan Of Troyius. The Dohlman of Elas is accompanied by a group of huge, powerful men, who wear body armor but carry nuclear hand-weapons. Kryton and two fellow guards beam aboard the Enterprise to ensure that the ship was secured for the Dohlman's transport.

Mid-journey, Kryton entered the Main Engineering and rigged the antimatter pods to blow up when the warp drive was engaged. When his sabotage was discovered Kryton mocked Captain Kirk's attempt to question his motives. After being threatened with the prospect of a Vulcan mind meld he stole a phaser from Lieutenant Evans and kills himself.

Check the snow. No snow. Check the Net. Find Ben Loka again. Yay! Long time, no see. Tell me all about milk!

Let me tell you something. There's still no snow. Watch Rachel. Free State Beer? In Lawrence... Kansas? Go, Rachel!
