sick dinsdag 13 september 2011 Up at 12:30. Turn on DW-TV. Several German politicians are openly concerned about the chance that Greece may go bankrupt - or may have to abandon the euro. Merkel warns leaders to watch their words on Greek debt. They show us the IAA in Frankfurt - der Internationalen Automobil-Ausstellung. An electric BMW? Yes - the BMW i.
The Bundesliga is working hard at it. Stuttgart, Bayern Munich, Bremen, Dortmund, Köln... Whew! Man! My stomach is upset. Call in sick for today. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Pictures of her trip to France are posted.
C'est magnifique! Most of the show dwells on the CNN/Tea Party Republican Debate. This gets me. Wolf Blitzer tried to ask Ron Paul some questions about Health Care issues. If a 30-year old uninsured person had six months to live, would Paul let him die? It's eerie to hear the crowd yell out. Before Paul could answer, the audience did, with cheers of "Yeah!" and applause. Let him die!
Sorry about that. Watch a Stargate SG-1 marathon. Episodes - Full Circle, Fallen and Homecoming. We are reacquainted with Abydos and Skaara. Sad that the planet is destroyed. Skaara says that death is just the beginning of one's journey. Lost a lot of sleep. I conk out. Up later. Listen to The World. I re-watch the GOP debate from last night. Oy!
Why do I subject myself to the tea-baggers spewing their hate and misinformation? I must be a masochist. Despite our nation's history of electing GWB twice, I have faith in our country to steer clear of the real wackos. The World addresses this question - What's Become Of The Neoconservative Movement? The fall of the neocons happened quickly and dramatically. Iraq turned into a bloody quagmire; the Republicans lost big in the 2006 elections; ultimately Bush fired Rumsfeld, and Heilbrunn says the President turned away from Vice President Cheney and the other hawks and neocons who wanted to attack Syria and Iran. Watch movies - The Day After Tomorrow, Iron Man 2 and A. I. - Artificial Intelligence.
Eventually, I get back to the news. Watch Hardball and Rachel Maddow. On Hardball - GOP Remains Wary Of Perry. Rachel Maddow: Between reality and Republicanland, the bridge is out.
