woensdag 5 augustus 2009 Up at 3:50. Turn on AM 1090. Listen to Bill Press. A Hot Topic - Town Halls: The tea baggers are back. Will they stop health care reform? Not them again! Tofu on rice noodles for breakfast. Check BBC News. Hmmmm. South Korean special command soldiers train for a sea infiltration drill in Taean, SK.
The BBC also covers the arrival in LA of the freed reporters from North Korea. I have fun playing some songs by Les Sans Culottes... It's a band I heard about yesterday on NPR. Faux French band... sounding (and looking) rather B-52esque.
Shower. ATM $20 from HomeStreet. Walk up Westlake to work. 10 to 2 - Hang out with the Starfish while covering for Elaine's planning time, her lunch and Anne's lunch. They kids seem happy to see me. We head out to the playground. Nice coating of natural sunscreen with the cool marine layer. The kids enjoy my tricks with the hula hoops. They head inside when the Wildflowers come storming out. People fix up the lunches and tables. When the chairs are set down, the Starfish automatically sit down... "But it's not lunchtime yet." I grab some books so the kids can sit at the reading table. At first, the children want to sit and read - look at - their books. Sometimes, one child wants the book the other child is looking at. I shuffle the books a little. Someone likes lots of books.
One child focuses on only one book... the Signing Book.
One guy is thinking - perhaps - "Where's my lunch?" and dumps his books on the floor.
Some kids can't hold off nap time for lunch. Too tired. Most eat lunch. Down for naps. Ben takes a while... I try singing and talking and stroking... and finally rocking. He's finally out. 2 - Olivia's lunch. I take 4 Seahorses out to the playground. It's still cool and cloudy. Streetcar to d'town. Up to Harvard Market QFC. O.J., instant rice and Hot Pockets. I bump into Peter Lock again - twice in one week. Down University through Freeway Park to my place. Turn on Ron Reagan. They talk about the country Sudan and the concerns of its Failed State Status and how to address the humanitarian crisis of Darfur. Rice and Butter chicken for dinner. Watch movie - Attack Of The Clones.
