Karl Frisch, founder of Bullfight Strategies, calls in at 9am ET / 6am PT to co-host Right Wing World.
Stephanie talks about the Negative Poll Ratings To The Tea Party. Switch to the Paul Newman version of The Long, Hot Summer. Accused barn burner and con man Ben Quick...
...arrives in a small Mississippi town and quickly ingratiates himself with its richest family, the Varners. I love the First Kiss Scene.
Ben: Put them things down, Miss Clara, 'cause I'm gonna kiss you. I'm gonna show you how simple it is. You please me, and I'll please you. [Attempts to kiss Clara, but she slaps him across the face] Ben: [chuckles] Oh, I know what's troublin' you. It's all those boys hollerin' for Eula every night. And Eula with her hair hangin' down and Jody with his shirt off chasin' her. And your old man at 60 and he's callin' on his lady love. [Bends down to kiss Clara, and she makes no resistance] Clara: All right, you proved it. I'm human. Ben: Yes, ma'am. You human, all right.
Check on Hurricane Irene before I leave for work. Report - The National Hurricane Center issued a hurricane watch for the Outer Banks of North Carolina early Thursday as officials calculated what they need to do if Irene becomes the first major hurricane to strike the East Coast in seven years. Check WECT - NBC Ch. 6 in Willmington, NC who is monitoring the situation with concern. Turn on Thom Hartmann. He interviews Will Bunch the author of Tear Down This Myth.
Walk up Westlake to work. I have 45 minutes of open space. I'm out on the playground on this spectacular day playing with the Sea Otters, Starfish and the Moons & Stars. Cristin gets a short break, then I cover for Olivia's lunch. I'm going to O. D. on sunshine and fresh air. One of the kids is suffering from major jet-lag from a trip from Germany. She's crumbling. We make inside in time for lunch. Nap time for Seahorses and Starfish. The kids sleep well. Some of the Starfish wake up early. Olivia reads them Where Is The Green Sheep? (One of my favorites.)
Cowabunga Wave Sheep! Walk up Mercer to the International Fountain. Kids playing in there.
#15 bus back to d'town. Change chothes. Short walk around First Hill. I exchange the shade of the trees for the blasting sunshine here and there. Double dose of Rachel Maddow. Yesterday and today. Shrimp and spaghetti for dinner. Watch Star Trek - The Galileo Seven.
"Captain's Log, stardate 2821.5. En route to Makus III, with a cargo of medical supplies. Our course leads us past Murasaki 312, a quasar-like formation. Vague... undefined. A priceless opportunity for scientific investigation. On board is Galactic High CommissionerFerris, overseeing the delivery of the medicines to Makus III."
Murasaki 312 is cool.
