vrijdag 12 augustus 2011 Up at 3:36. Turn on France 24. Where does France stand amid the financial crisis? Lot of concern about economic turmoil in France. Trying to investigate the rating agencies like Standard & Poors. Can France survive a recession?

Hash browns and fried egg for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Catch up on the last night's debates in Iowa. It sounds like they were disqualifying each other. Not pretty. Republicans eating their own. And it seems that ol' Mitt needs a little help in understanding the difference between corporations and people. This will make a great campaign slogan. You're such a schmuck.

They talk about how Rick Perry's Texas Has The Highest Percentage Of Minimum Wage Jobs In The Nation. There's a lot of wrong stuff in Texas, and we really need to investigate this Rick Perry guy. I think he's dangerous.
I explore Paris again with Google Earth. I stumble upon Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris - 27 rue Saint-Guillaume 75337 Paris. It's a school which has traditionally educated France's political and diplomatic elite. Kids from all over the world attend classes here. The intermingling of so many cultures must be fascinating.
Fog this morning. Walk up Westlake while listening to KUOW. It Weekday Live: Nancy Pearl And The Bushwick Book Club. To work. I give breaks to Toni, Sharon, Pam and Kyle. I get a lot of time on the playground with the Dolphins, Seahorses and Starfish. We have lunch prep today. Thanks, Charity. We take the Starfish inside. I read a couple books while Olivia changes a couple diapers. Over to Seahorses for Anne's lunch. Why are they going "Ma, ma, ma, ma" for their lunches? Toni goe to lunch. Mr. O hasn't had a nap for 6 weeks, but today he goes out. Back to Starfish. Only 4 kids, and they're all asleep. Miss T. is an early-riser. She makes a little sticker page. She wears it as a cape on her back.
The rest of the kids sleep until 3. Check Money on my break. After wild swings the first four days, Dow ends the week with a relatively tame 125-point gain. Whew! What A Wild Week!
Up to Whole Foods to pick up some things. Drop off stuff at my place. Turn on KOMO News. This is a little controversial. King Co. Council To OK Car Tab Fee Hike, Save Metro Bus Service. No More Ride-Free Zone which is used by 9,000 riders each day, to be erased by October 2012. Another pretty day. Let's go! Destination - The Colman Dock. I zig-zag through the streets of d'town Seattle. I feel a slight on-shore flow. Nice and cool. And there are some interesting ships in Elliott Bay.

Back at the apartment, I turn on Hardball. More on the Republican debate in Iowa. Rice and spicy tofu for dinner. Thank you. And here's the weather report...
