donderdag 9 juni 2011

donderdag 9 juni 2011 Up with alarm. Turn on Stephanie Miller. She seems rather amused by a YouTube vid - Baby Monkey. It seems addictive. Yes. I'll be singing this song to myself all day.

John Fugelsang is at the United Nations this morning for UN Talk Radio Day, and he calls in to give us the latest buzz.
Uff! Everyone who calls into the show from New York City is complaining about the heat wave. Seriously? 98°? Hot yet? Another Scorcher Set For Tri-State. Tofu fried rice for breakfast. Shower. Walk up to work. I dash across Denny to take Terry. Elaine needs help to set up some stuff in her room, so I hang out with the 12 Wildflowers on the big playground. We move over to the Secret Garden later. The kids have lots of fun in there. 11 - Lunch prep for Starfish and Seahorses. The pipes are leaking. 12 - Cristin's lunch. Kenn is subbing for Olivia. He changes diapers while I clean up the lunch mess. The Starfish put themselves to sleep. 1 - Kenn's lunch. It's quiet in the room while the kids sleep. 2 - I'm extra. I get out some cuddly toys for the Sea Otters. Walk home. My back aches. Listen to The World. Interesting report - Wrestling As a Solution to Poverty in Senegal. Check out the slideshow.

Turn on KOMO News. According to the weather guy, we got up to one degree above normal - 69°! Get this. Giant, Putrid 'Corpse Flower' Blossoms At UW Greenhouse. I thought it lived in the Capitol Hill greenhouse. Anyway... Here's a BBC video of the thing.

Yo! Stinky flower! You stink! Watch some Hardball - Global Warming Debate Heats Up... among other things. Yes! Mitt Romney Admits Global Warming Is Real, Manmade. Reaction to Romney's global warming remarks shows that the Republican Party hates any science that doesn't make money for big corporations. How 'bout the Current Knowledge Of Global Cooling and Robert Felix's Ice Age Now!? Oy. Black bean salad for dinner. Watch Stargate Universe - The Hunt.

Fall asleep watching The Outer Limits - Moonstone. And I miss the closing narration.

The steps Man takes across the heavens of his universe are as uncertain as those steps he takes across the rooms of his own life. And yet if he walks with an open mind, those steps must lead him eventually to that most perfect of all destinations, truth.
