dinsdag 16 maart 2010

dinsdag 16 maart 2010 Up at 2:55. Turn on BBC News. The red shirts in Thailand are donating their own blood as part of a plan to splatter the Thai government headquarters in a symbolic sacrifice to press their demands for new elections. It's a radical yet creative idea, in my opinion. This is the third day of anti-government rallies. Global Business has an interesting report. They report the plans in Rwanda to wire up. The government has recently completed a $50m deal with Korea Telecom, which will mean wireless broadband will reach out across the whole country. On top of which they are rolling out a nationwide 'one laptop per child' plan. Ambitious! Some burrito for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. She talks about her appearance on "The Shuster Showdown" 3-15-10. Health care is not a right says the right-wing tool - Mike Slater.

Shower. Up to Kaladi for some of Jeremiah's coffee. I'm advertising a lot for Kaladi by wearing my Red Goat baseball cap... which I love.

Back to my place to read more about the Red Shirts in Thailand. As many as 100,000 "Red Shirt" protesters converged Sunday on Bangkok to demand that Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva agree to dissolve parliament by midday Monday. This is an awsome display of protest politics from the Global Voices blog. March 14th - the Dawn of TRUE DEMOCRACY !

Walk a little around d'town. Streetcar to work. 9 to 10 - Emergency Procedures and Bloodborne Pathogens training. 10 - Cover for Pam's conference. Kenn and I take 3 Dolphins out to the playground. It's spitting a little rain. I get a 30-minute lunch break - 11:15 to 11:45. 12 - Kris' lunch. Eight Seahorses eat lunch. Only 1 diaper to do. They go down for naps. Fais Do Do. Easy-going hour. 1 - Pam's lunch. Dolphins nap. 2 - Christin's lunch. Five Sea Otters nap. Kenn and I get to fold a lot of laundry. Walk up to Cal Anderson Park. Stiff wind from the south... but no rain. Can't access my podcast to The World, so I turn on France 24. They talk about the adventures - les aventures - of Yves Saint Laurent.

Watch MSNBC News and Rachel Maddow. Some burrito for dinner. No movie tonight.
