woensdag 4 mei 2011

woensdag 4 mei 2011 Restless night. I think that I was dreaming of the evil Morgana played by Alice Krige from The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Up at 4:30. Turn on BBC News. Hash browns and Quorn for breakfast. Shower. Back in time - on Monday, May 4, 1970 - the Kent State Massacre occurred. The Ohio National Guard fired 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, killing four students and wounding nine others, one of whom suffered permanent paralysis. These are the 4 who died. Unarmed college students cut down in their prime.
Watch Stargate Universe - Time. This episode ends like a cliffhanger... to be continued. Everyone is dying. No time for debauchery for this end-of-the-world scenario. Things look pretty bleak. Johansen is watching her friends die one-by-one.This situation must be resolved somehow by an unseen reset. The next episode is called Life.
The sun is up. Things are warming up, too. Nice enough to wear shorts.
Walk up Westlake to work. 10 to 10:45 - Cover for Patty's meeting. She comes back a little to early to help us pick up the room. 10:45 to 11:30 - Planning time for Earnastine. I hang out with the Tree Frogs on the playground. We have fun in the sandbox. Upstairs to help set out a few nap mats for the Rainforest Kids. Then I take a short break. 12 - Yachea's break. The 5 Sea Turtles are already done with lunch. I change a few diapers, and they easily go down for naps. NO NAP HASSLES TODAY! Yay! 1 - Tanja's lunch. Hang out with the nappers. Quiet time. 2 - Sam's lunch. Most of the Trailblazers are asleep. I just sit with them and enjoy the soft acoustical guitar music. Streetcar to d'town. Watch KOMO News. The sun beckons, so I walk up Pike to the new Plum Bistro. I want to try this place out some day.
Back down University to my place. Watch Stargate Universe - Life. Stargate fans give this only a 6.0 ("fair") rating. It deserves better with the array of human emotions... the relationship between Camille and Sharon - her partner of 12 years. The pair share an intimate few hours at home. But all too soon, they exchange tearful goodbyes, with Sharon encouraging Camille to do whatever it takes to motivate the people on board the Destiny and get herself home.
Watch MSNBC. Eugene Robinson and Joan Walsh wrangle around the value of letting the photos of Bin Laden's bloody corpse be published on Hardball. And a twit from Sarah Palin. Uff da! Stop "pussy-footing around" Watch movie... just half of it - The Spy Who Loved Me.
