woensdag 11 augustus 2010

woensdag 11 augustus 2010 Up a few minutes before the alarm. Turn on Stephanie Miller. Today, Hal Sparks is streaming from the Chicago bureau of Stephanie Miller International - WCPT. There's a lot of buzz about Steph's appearance on CNN last night. Hi, Hal!

Steph on CNN's Larry King Live 08-10-2010 Tavis Smiley is sub-hosting. He doesn't seem to have control, and it really turns into a Brady Bunch shouting match. Even though screechy Tea Bagger Dana Loesch can't restrain herself, Aisha Tyler manages to make some good points.

Short walk down to Rainier Square, ATM some cash and back through the Convention Center to my place. Cup of coffee. Listen to more Steph. A caller provokes a debate about pensions for teachers... Why Public Employees Are the New Welfare Queens. Walk up Westlake to work. First break is upstairs with the Wildflowers. Tanja is in the middle of diapers. Then I use my free time to fold laundry. 10:45 - Break for Kathy in the Rainforest Kids. We take the 7 kids outside to the playground. What brilliant weather. 11 - Jessica's lunch. The Dolphins are on the small playground. We head inside, and the group has a minor meltdown. They're tired and hungry. 12 - Charmaine's lunch. I eat my lunch with the 6 Seahorses. Patty and I try to talk about yesterday's STARS class, but the kids want the attention. They get loud. "I can't hear Patty!" I tell them. I read books to them while Patty changes diapers. 1 - Upstairs to Rainforest kids for their nap time. It's a very quiet hour. 2 - Down to Seahorses again for Patty's lunch. The 6 kids sleep. Charmaine and I chat about this and that. The kids sleep most of the way through the hour. Streetcar to d'town. #72 bus tunnel to Uwajimaya. Get some Sho Chiku Bai, tofu with rice noodles and salmon. #41 bus tunnel back. Drop off stuff. Take a short walk up to B'way and back. Watch Sliders - The Prince Of Wails. The Sliders land in an America where the English won the Revolutionary War. It's the British States of America. An alternate Arturo is the Sheriff of San Francisco... and he is always right.

Just after Sheriff Arturo finishes getting made-up for his second press conference, he stands before the mirror, removes the tissues stuck in his collar and whispers "God, I look good."
