woensdag 18 augustus 2010

hair woensdag 18 augustus 2010 Up at 3:58. Turn on France 24. There's a great interview about US foreign policy in the middle east. US/Iraq: "Mission accomplished"? Turn on Stephanie Miller. She talks about her appearance on Larry King last night. Battle Over Same-Sex Marriage.

Steph, Hal and the gang talk about Dr. Laura's First Amendment right... They wrangle with the issue of building a cultural Islamic center near ground zero. (Well, I wanna build a gay bar right next to Focus on the Family headquarters.) (Sorry, bad analogy.)

Egg salad on toast for breakfast. Bath. Walk up to Kaladi for an iced coffee... even though it's cool this morning. I want to know how Jeremiah makes it. He pulls a pitcher of the stuff out of the frig and pours it into a cup of ice. I make iced coffee from time to time, but Jeremiah's is smooth and yummy. Walk around First Hill with my coffee. Check out the new addition to Virginia Mason. Back to my place to watch the UStream. Cool! Hal is wearing a wishbone t-shirt. He has the coolest shirts!

Walk up Westlake to work. 10 to 10:15 - Break for Cristin. 10:15 to 12 - Planning time for Patty. Liz covers for Charmaine. We let them have a little free play... until utter chaos follows. Out to the deck! Quick, kids! They rode on the bikes non-stop for 30 minutes. We move to the small playground when the Dolphins head inside. Margot covers for Charmaine's lunch. Just before Noon, Patty comes out, so I head inside for Cristin's lunch. Easy-going time. Most of the Starfish put themselves to sleep. 1 - Michelle is subbing for Renee. It's her lunch break. Piper wakes up early. I can't get her back to sleep. She wants to play with her baby doll. 2 - Patty's lunch. It's a quiet hour. They are all napping. Walk up Boren and Pine to Rudy's to get a buzz cut. Instant service. Remy walks in as I walk out... without wearing my baseball cap. I buy a new cap at Kaladi - $16. Walk around Capitol Hill and over to First Hill. Capitol Hill has cute boys, but I enjoy First Hill for the shady trees and quiet. Back to my place to change clothes and watch KOMO News. Switch to an episode of Sliders - Love Gods. In this alternative universe, a biological weapon has killed off over 99% percent of the earth's men, and the race to repopulate is on. The male sliders find themselves elevated to the status of "love gods". The doctors check out Quinn. He qualifies as A-1 meat.

Over to MSNBC News. Report - NBC's Richard Engel: Last Troops Leave Iraq. The last U.S. combat forces cross the border into Kuwait bringing Operation Iraqi Freedom to a close after nearly 7 1/2 years.

Rachel Maddow is in Iraq reporting from the Green Zone. Asian noodles with spicy beef for dinner. Watch movie - The Beast With A Billion Backs.
