zaterdag 15 januari 2011 Up at 7:55. Check MSNBC. Tunisia is still grappling with looting and protests. Report - Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali Forced To Flee Tunisia As Protesters Claim Victory. Switch to KEXP. Counterspin speaks with Chip Berlet about Jared Loughner's obsession with “Zeitgeist - The Movie”. I also watch Jared Loughner's YouTube video - Genocide School. Hash browns and Cholay chicken for breakfast. Shower. Walk around Capitol Hill. It's rather quiet around the town. Listen to Wait, Wait and This American Life on my walk. I love their subject - Kid Politics. "Abort the mission! Abort! Abort! Abort!" Fifth-graders re-enact the invasion of Grenada. They look at a school which is run by the students - The Brooklyn Free School. Hear the song - Hard Sun by Eddie Vedder - on the radio.

Watch Star Trek The Next Generation - Contagion. Captain Picard is contacted by his friend Captain Donald Varley of the USS Yamato. Varley, an archeology buff like Picard, believes he has found the fabled planet of Iconia at a location within the Romulan Neutral Zone. The Iconians, long since extinct, had developed advanced technology that the Romulans could use against the Federation. However, as the Yamato neared the proported planet, the ship began to experience system failures and is now stranded in the Neutral Zone. Before Varley can explain more, the Yamato suffers a warp-core breach, destroying the ship.

The Romulan Neutral Zone is an area of neutral space between the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire that was established after the end of the Earth-Romulan War. Entry by either side into the Zone constituted an act of war. Turn on Rick Steves' program - Eccentric Islands and Backstreet Istanbul. Poet and essayist Bill Holm: "Island is both thing and metaphor. Without the weight of things, metaphors turn vapid, sour, empty, fly off into space and connect with nothing.... Islands are good to think on if a man would express himself neatly." "I want to be open to the currents of the universe." And Istanbul seems to be one of Rick Steves' places. Nişantası-Teşvikiye is like the Champs-Élysées of Istanbul.

Watch Star Trek The Next Generation - Where No One Has Gone Before.

And The Naked Now.
