maandag 26 juli 2010

sick maandag 26 juli 2010 I toss and turn all night... coughing, sneezing, runny nose. Call into work sick around 2:30. I stay awake. Play movie - Children Of Dune, Part 3. Leto becomes a hybrid man-sandworm, and he creates a stir when he appears at the palace.

Alia wants to kill him, creating more drama in the palace, but Leto defends himself with amazing powers of speed. Salsa con Queso omelet for breakfast. Turn on Stephanie Miller. The Rude Pundit talks about his experience last week at The Rally for Economic Survival at the Cajundome. He went with his mom. After Stephanie, I play episodes of The Time Tunnel - Rendezvous With Yesterday and Devil's Island. The intro to the Time Tunnel project reminds me of the Krell complex in Forbidden Planet. They take a peculiar ride down 800 stories in this strange elevator.

Tony takes a time trip to the RMS Titanic.

Here is Marcel - a prisoner of the French penal colony Devil's Island - 1895.
Shower. Walk down to Convention Center Taco Del Mar to get my Monday Mondo Burrito. Walk through Rainier Square to the Garden Of Remembrance. I feel out of it. Back up to my place the same way. The WSCTC is busy. Wow... I'm sneezing all over the place. Play Weird Science - Wicked Wish. The story is a twist on the fairy-tale Snow White.

Oh, Wyatt. Hi, there. You're wrapped in only a towel, fresh out of the shower, talking with Lisa .
Wyatt's mom becomes wicked with jealousy. She wants to be the fairest in the land with the help of her evil, magic mirror.
Marsha and Lisa duel it out a la Sith/Jedi style.

Turn on France 24 to catch the Culture Report. They interview Edmund White - the author of City Boy. (An Ohio boy.) He describes his life - the life - of being gay in the 60's and 70's in Manhattan. He describes "the golden age of promiscuity" in his novel. He describes it as the only time in human history when people "were free to have sex when and how they wanted," because of access to birth control pills and before the advent of AIDS.

I feel that I am wandering into something of a parallel universe in the France 24 Sport Report. Two female sport reporters seem to assess the "potential" of a 20-year-old sprinter - born in Annecy, France - Christophe Lemaitre. Regardez!

Watch Hardball and MSNBC. I love it when Rachel chats with Ezra Klein. They talk about Why The Climate Bill Failed. They talk about our oil dependency and how the oil companies have weaved a web of influence. Ezra thinks that we're not going to solve the problem... ever!

Man in Pink: [singing] Whenever life gets you down Mrs. Brown / and things seem hard or tough / and people are stupid, obnoxious or daft / and you feel that you've had quite enough! / just remember that your standing on a planet thats evolving / revolving at nine-hundred miles an hour / its orbiting at ninety miles a second / so its reckoned / a sun that is the source of all our power / the sun and you and me.

I fall asleep while watching The Meaning of Life... but I wake up again... coughing, sneezing, runny nose. Oy!
